Meterial to stop interferance inside A1200
There is no protective shield inside my A1200 since an internal CDROM is mounted inside on the left side.
When floppy or cdrom reads a disk I get interference on my screen. Reading from hdd has similar (but less) effect. Is there any material I can cover the floppy and CDROM to stop this interference? |

This is not an interference caused by the lack of the metal cover!
Just replace the capacitors on the motherboard and add a ~2uF capacitor in the 1Dx board you have.

An Amiga technician friend of mine told me it's because cdrom is feeded power from the floppy power connector.
Would the standard power 4.5a commodore power supply be enough for cdrom hdd, blizzard 060, pcmciae modem? Or will I need a new one? |

I have a similar setup and used an adapted PC 250w power supply I bought from amigakit with a square Amiga power connector when my A1200 was in its desktop case. When I wanted to add CD ROM etc, I decided to put it all in a tower and use a PC power supply with adapter. The most I have run on the standard A1200 Power supply is an A1200 with 8mb expansion, even then I didn't run it very long. Before replacing caps I would get decent clean power - you never know, that might help with the "interferance" issue. cheers Andrew |

Disconnecting the Hdd cdrom and floppy does not change the flicker problem.
I will buy one of those power supplies as well. I might be putting a BPPC and maybe a BVision as well. And will need to solve the heat and place problem. I want everything to be inside the original 1200 case. Any idea how to solve the CDROM power problem? It currently share power with the floppy power connector, I think it's causing some problems |

The floppy power connector is not intended for more than the original floppy drive and maybe a small fan to help heat dissipation on the accelerator.
Soldering three wires from the Amiga power to a Molex/mini-Molex connector may solve the problem.
