Question A Pushing Box Game

Hi Everyone

I once again have to ask for your expertise in possibly identifying a certain game. I've exhausted Hall Of Light to the point of getting blocked once for checking too many titles lol I had no idea such a simple concept would be so hard to track down.

As the title suggests, it's pretty straight forward. You play as a guy or boy, don't remember exactly what the character looked like but I know it was human and possibly male.

You are in a room and have to push a certain amount of boxes around. What I surely remember was that you cannot pull them, only push. At the moment that's all I can recall. I'm sorry it's not much.

The name might start with a 'P' or have it somewhere in the name, but I could very well be mistaken about that. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for the input. It's not it, but this one particular screenshot looks pretty similar in the sense it takes place in one room, or at least the first level (or levels) I played did.

I don't believe you see anything on screen outside the confines of that particular room, i.e. no maroon area surrounding it like in that picture.

Apart from that and please note this memory could be completely wrong, there might have been something food related to the whole thing. This could be anything from the name of the game or what happened to be contained in the boxes or crates you must push around. I just have this vague idea circling around in my head, so I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks again for trying

whitegiant89 - Nope, not Pengo. That seems to look a bit like Pac-Man. The character you control in the one I'm looking for is a full body, rather to just a head

plankton - It's not Push-Over either. It seems like you might be able to jump in that game, whereas the one I'm searching for, you don't do anything besides walk around the room and push.

Thank you guys on both entries They were both ones I hadn't run into in my search before. You might not want to focus too much on the 'P' thing though cos seriously, it might not be anywhere in the title.

You can not jump in Push Over. I think you played Public Domain game.

Sixiang

dlfrsilver - Wow, that's the closest thing to what I'm looking for yet! Thank you! Okay, so my mystery game looks somewhat like this.

That is exactly what I meant when I said, I don't think you see anything outside the room you are in. That is also close to what I think the walls look like in the one I'm thinking of.

Thanks a lot for trying. That gives everyone a visual.

s2325 - Okay thanks, but it still looks very different to the one I had played. I have no idea what it was, except that it was on a floppy by itself (Had a couple of games that you had from 3 to 4 on one floppy where you press a number in the beginning to load the one you want)

killergorilla - It's not Dozer, but thanks for trying. Your character is human and you definitely started in a room indoors, i.e no grass.

Pitfall 2 - this one looks very different.
The Power - the playing area is too big here. The whole room would fit on the screen (no scrolling)
Cubix - Looks similar Damien yeah, but still not it. The background wasn't black cos it was clear you were in some room - maybe some kind of store or warehouse. Not sure. Plus, there needs to be a guy to do the pushing lol.

Thank you all for your input. Eh, don't worry about it not being the one I remember. Still appreciate the effort. Plus, you never know - you could always end up pointing me to some other game I forgot I had The worse that can happen is discovering games I didn't know existed. So thanks all for trying.

I remember the author described how he wrote a sokoban game called Pitfall, but lost the originals, and so rewrote it as Pitfall 2, just in case someone still had a copy of his original Pitfall.

Chances are good that's a PD game. Why that?
Well, because the thread starter said something about this crammed on a compact, so it's very probably that it's PD. In case you know the TRILOGY compacts, they usually used smaller-sized PD games to fill up the disk
Same with Astronut & Co.

Ah yes, and the game could also be part of a PD-only compact: namely, the Assassins series.
