(you'd need a 68030 at least)

Some gfx boards already do that (Retina) on the Amiga.

Well maybe there are other nasty issues such as interrupt vectors (vblank, etc...). Well, in theory a full speed low-level Atari ST emulator should be possible on the Amiga.

But what's the interest when most of the games exist on both plaforms (except for some rare exceptions like Super Sprint, Colonial Conquest, ...) and when they do the Amiga version is identical or better?
Thankyou for you reply Sir -Just intrested or dreaming

I guess your right no real need as most games were ported to Amiga but still a few Games/PD/Demos that wernt.

I have had Colonial Conquest and a few other TOS friendly games running under Chamaeleon - Chamaeleon 68000 only though
What about TOSEmu for WHDLOAD like KickEmu

Yeah, such anomaly comes to mind, but INMHO it would be worthless without a well-maintained and thoroughly updated equivalent of WinUAE for the ST's. Can't think of any candidate up the challenge ?

I think it's time...

Unofficial successor then ? There is an emulator based on WinSTon, but it didn't get updated itself : STew. Don't ask me what the new additions are, it looks pretty identical to WinSTon v0.5.

Played a bit with a MS-DOS emulator nobody mentioned :
PacifiST (which I took control of with a DOSBox frontend).
Most of the settings from the .ini file can be edited by hand or via a handy little utility called Assist. If anyone's interested, I'll make it avalaible as it's a difficult one to google.

Also, it bears a pre-launch screen which warns of possible errors and allows to input a few commands. I am showing it here.

The resulting emulation is significantly more faithful, apparently. I may switch to full screen with a nice and stable picture (VBE 2.0 driver & "LINE" video-building mode, no need for GEM resolutions). Gamepad can be calibrated, and the list of TOS'es proposed from the initial .ini seems to be the right blend : 2.06 & 1.62 UK's, 1.0 FR's. They can be switched to boot another ST from this pre-launch screen (they call it "monitor").

The author mentions Stunt Car Racer in the list of good ST games (along with the usual Colonial Conquest and Super Sprint) but I doubt the ST version is superior to the Amiga one.

Thanx TCD. Rumor has it there was a Windows version of Assist made, but this one should do the trick.
Finally noticed PacifiST is more buggy and unstable than expected (for doing more than just loading an .ST and playing a bit one of those few good ST exclusives). Anyone knows which are the emulator(s) of choice in Gamebase ST ?

STonx should be mentioned, I guess, for the sake of completeness (there are many ports of this one Boo Boo, including for the miggy).

They used both STeem and SainT apparently.

Well, may be using them with the benefit of Gamebase GEMUS functions would ease the pain for me, but as of now, I find them pretty unusable (or may be it's because of issues with Vista). Not that it matters much anyway.

Since no development occured in the last years for Atari800WinPlus, I recommend rather the Atari800 emulator from which Atari800WinPlus has been derived.

You could also try Altirra. Made a lot of progress since 2009.

Hi.
Digging up this old thread.
Is there a ST emulator that actually works on a real amiga?
I'm messing with Hatari port from aminet but it does not launch.

Hi all,
Resurrecting an old thread again.

Does anyone emulate the Atari Falcon nowadays? I notice that Hatari claims to support the Falcon nowadays and you can get system friendly applications to work in ARAnyM, but I haven't found much discussion on the topic. Does anyone have experience they can share?

falcon emulation seems to run fine here (hatari windows version 1.8)
I have been playing a few exclusive falcon games as "pac them" which run in hicolor
I have zero experience in the atari falcon but surely system friendly applications will work fine in hatari: try it
