All my computers are connected to the same router / network server. So I simple use SSH.

Same here!, back into the miggy, bought a CF PCMCIA adaptor from AmigaKit, easiest and fastest way to transfer files for me.

There is absolutely no better way in my opinion.

Download new WHDLoad stuff, straight on the card within seconds and onto the Amiga within seconds. It's what one could only dream of back in the day.

Originally I used crossdos and DMS or LHA, but now I use Amiga Forever with parallel cable. I tried PC2Amiga from Aminet but it didn't work.

Since parallel isn't too fast, and PCs these days often have no parallel port or floppy drive, a PCMCIA compact flash card is probably best.
