I was too young for the first elite, but played the second a lot.

I work very near Frontier Developments in Cambridge UK headed up by David Braben. I don't know if works there every day or not or what his involvement is in the company.

I am keep meaning to drop off at reception a boxed Elite 2 for him to sign, I don't know if he would do that?
