amiga 3000 ram

i have a amiga 3000 just got zip ram in the mail to day

my qestion is will the 3000 be able to use
10ns zip ram
right now it 80ns zip
i did try it but unsure were to put in the banks
and can i mix the ram ? on the speeds like pc ?

Very unlikely that it is 10ns.

Try it, if it doesn't you'll know.

-10 = 100ns btw.

I found myself the other day those "-10" chips and was happy as hell, until i found a description of these values

i did move the jumper J852 so that it see's 1x4 ram but all i get it guru errors
the kick 3.1 starts up shows the disk moving in and then the computer resets and gives a guru error some weard error

so i went back to the org memory 80ns darn zip mem very hard to put back in with out bending the pins lol

i have 10 of the 1x4 mem
and 8 or the org memory tryied to mix it no such luck show up on wb 0 other memory the dips are full i think is this memory next to the zip banks on the 3000 or what is it used for becuse zip is a pain in the but to install

oh by the way i do have a 3000 manual

As you have the manual, read the section 4, page 13 to 17.

The 100ns memory will not work in the A3000 (must be 80ns or less). Also you cannot mix DIL chips with ZIP ones.

On page 4-17 you'll find the suitable chips you can use.

I'll stick with 'Cachaça do Inter' for this week: Chivas gives headaches! :D
