I read this, but i thought that's ON. The "The Zone!" on EAB File Server mislead me.
Anyway, thanks a lot for help.

http://files.winuae.net/beta/winuae_2000b17.zip

Beta 17:

- fixed uaescsi.device TD_GETGEOMETRY total number of blocks off by one error, return TDERR_DiskChanged if no media inserted
- ACTION_FH_FROM_LOCK didn't reset write notification flag, caused ghost file notifications + parent directory date changes when file was closed if same file/dir was ACTION_ADD_NOTIFY'd earlier
- VHPOSW/VPOSW emulation rewritten (mainly used for "fake" 60Hz but also can be used for other purposes)
- less confusing GUI CPU frequency configuration
- when selecting best fit fullscreen mode, ignore modes that have completely wrong aspect ratio (for example rotated screen)
- right border 2 lores pixel delay properly handled in copper emulation
- RTG onscreen leds (no transparency, does not ignore scaling)
- new pointless feature: following games' protection dongles emulated: Leaderboard, Robocop 3, B.A.T. II, Italy'90 Soccer, Dames Grand Maitre, Rugby Coach, Cricket Captain. No GUI support, add "dongle=x" where x is name of the game

Wow love you Toni for implementing the dongle emulation, thank you so much !!!!

PS : do you plan to allow dongle emulation for powercopy ?

Yeah!!

(why "pointless"? It's great )

Should the name be entered without spaces? All lowercase?
For example: dongle=robocop3

Or are the games' names supposed to be written as you wrote them in your post:
Leaderboard
Robocop 3
B.A.T. II
Italy'90 Soccer
Dames Grand Maitre
Rugby Coach
Cricket Captain

I agree; Toni, that's not pointless at all!

Because:

there may be even more rare issues found sometime which are triggered with cracks and which do not appear in the ORIGINAL. And without dongle emulation, it is impossible to play the original of those previously mentioned titles!

Oh, I see. There have been so many hotfixes in this series that I'd forgotten that the beta releases aren't overwritten.

I just noticed that loading a saved config, even if WinUAE's default settings were not modified in any way, results in "CPU Frequency" switching to "custom - 0.000000" regardless of the preset or custom value it was set to. Not sure if this meant to happen though.

Preset values are not integers anymore.
Also, I noticed they were assigned to a CPU type : A500, A1200, 2x (2xA1200)

I had no problem loading a custom config where the custom CPU speed was set to 50MHz.

My suggestion, if I may :
  1. Change the value from 0 to one of the preset, or to an integer, from within this version
  2. Reload the config
if the speed value appears as it should, then it's not a bug .

CPU frequency problem is a bug. (because cpu freq is a stupid hack, it does not really exist, see below)

Reminding again: disabled frequency value shown in A500/A1200 selection has no meaning to emulation AT ALL. It is only shown to user.

Internally emulation does not have any frequency rates, only multipliers (any emulation with hardware that has syncronized clocks or only single master clock, not just UAE)

Frequency typed in "custom" mode gets internally converted to multiplier. Smallest multiplier is 1/512 which would mean 1 CPU cycle in 512 chipset color clocks. That is really really slow CPU.. This also means "A500" frequency and custom with exact same typed frequency may not be exact same thing! (rounding errors etc) -> NEVER EVER report any compatiiblity "bugs" without using A500 or A1200 selections!

(please, do not start arguing again or there will be "Toni getting annoyed part 2, the revenge.")

Most likely "No". But you can try to explain "why should I?" first. In some other thread.

Exactly as shown in changelog, including spaces, case-insensitive. (it should have taken less time to test with one game than to post this question..)

May i ask in the name of many guys out there and in order to remove the protection
of powercopy, can you please help us by disassembling it and check the copy protection ?

This tool would be very useful to many of us, and is way better than X-copy.

thanks if you decide to help

* is supposed to mean "select this if you are not sure or if there are problems"

GUI selection will be fixed in next beta.

Beta 18:

- dongle GUI selection added (IO Ports), Leviathan dongle supported
- added 9pin Epson matrix printer option (9pin printer has different graphics aspect ratio than 24/48pin)
- visual DMA debugger (possibly useless but cool!) different colors mark different DMA channels, "v <val>" to enable, no parameter or -1 = normal,-2 = small visual, -3 = wide and -4 = big. CE-only. Current colors: yellow = copper, green = blitter (light=normal, dark=line), blue = bitplane, cpu = gray, audio = red, sprite = white, disk = purple
- disable bitplane "speedup" optimization if dma debugger enabled
- beta versions do not load language dlls anymore
- SCSI mode GUI fixed
- minimizing: priority was set wrong, closing when minimized: remembered windowed mode size was reset (old bugs)
- unpause when clicking on "PAUSED" fps led
- some (vsync)sound sync experiments again..

Urgh. I added "path cleanup" code that removes possible double \\'s or //'s without testing if path started with \\..

Beta 19:

- do not "fix" \\'s at start of path (b14)
- sound sync ignored recently emulated NTSC short/long line toggle
- less aggressive sound sync in non-vsync modes (not much point really)
- 68020 CE cycle counting rewritten (may not be better yet but easier to tweak in future)
- added support for single sided PC/Atari ST-style images
- added .st to disk image dialog extension list, .vhd to hardfile list
- onscreen leds show selected disk side
- onscreen led track number is dimmed when drive is empty
- always mount regular hardfiles, even if dostype is unknown or filesystem fails to load (unknown dostype = whole drive disappeared after reboot)
- add or create regular partition hardfile and size >=512M: generate more compatible default disk geometry (cylinders less than 65536)
- Action Replay statefile support should work again (again and again)
- AVIOutput: handle recording thread errors without freezing, record as 24-bit (instead of 32) if display is 32-bit
- fixed really stupid and old bug in blitter state restore
- added pause priorities (user pause > inactive > minimized), lower priority pause states can't unpause higher priority states

Yep, and that's why I removed the post

After some testing, I tracked down the problem to Forceware's "Hide modes that this monitor cannot support" which got checked somehow.

SFS HDF does not work (single-partition, not RDB).

I don't know how it's expected to work, but I am sure this is wrong.

Did this:

- Add Hardfile
- entered 100 MB, selected SFS, clicked on Create
- status line says "6400 cyls, 204800 blocks, 100.0MB/100.0MB SFS..... [5346530000000000]"
- Ok, Start

Now in 1.6.1 the HDF does not appear at all. Assign and Info don't show DH0.

In B19 an icon DH0:SFS appears which means it is mounted as DOS, not SFS (should be DH0:NDOS). Version DH0: shows the same, filesystem 40.1 instead of SmartFileSystem.

Also in 1.6.1 after creating a HDF, it is automatically put into the Path field, in B19 you have to select it manually.

This means it can't find filesystem driver, point filesys-path in hardfiles properties to sfs driver. (there is no RDB so it can't find it automatically, unless you have patched rom that includes sfs driver in filesys.resource)

(note that this is not really supported anymore feature, just use RDB)

As far as cycle-exact A500 emulation is concerned, everything has been very stable for a couple of betas now, except for the minor, untestable glitch in Rolling Ronny. I have run a billion demos, plenty of games and I have yet to witness something genuinely abnormal occur

So, is there something specific you would like to have thoroughly tested? just curious.

in beta 19:
The title screen of "Kick Off 2", there is a black horizontal line that appears and disappears continuously (you can find it near the bottom).

Note:
I use "Double" Line Mode, and Horizontal & Vertical Centering.

Any demo. Lots of weird hardware banging + really easy to duplicate, usually no interactivity

I use DirectX 9.0c (August 2009)
I use Windows XP SP3 Pro
My VGA card is GeForce 8500 GT
