Completely new to the Amiga

Hi! I had no idea about amigas until a couple of months ago, when my boyfriend (a bit older than me, used amigas when he was a kid) told me about various strategy games he used to play, we found WinUAE, I played some games - I'm well impressed. The programming on some of these games is incredible; it's awesome, the complexity of games that only take up such a very small space. Yeah, that's real programming skill in my opinion.

I have a love for strategy games like Rules of Engagement and Balance of Power (Balance of Power is one of my favourite things in the world), so if anyone wants to recommend games along those lines, that would be greatly appreciated.

So, yeah, hi. It's lovely to see so many people here still caring about a very cool step in computing history.

Hello, welcome to the site and the community. You are probably looking for more realistic or complicated games, but I would suggest Mega 'lo Mania, Civilization, North and South, Supremacy and Starlord.

I would suggest reading the manual for Starlord because it is a very complex game. The rest should be easy enough to work out, but I am sure you could probably find the manuals for them at the Hall of Light or Lemon Amiga websites.

Have fun!

For some light hearted addictive fun try warlords... too bad the AI isn't exactly top notch...

btw, there is no such thing as a Kiwi from hell, don't you know New Zealand is the closest country to Heaven, why life here is far better than any other place in the world... ;-)
