EAB/Lemon Super League 2009: Round 7 Game Vote

EAB/Lemon Super League 2009: Round 7 Game Vote

Starts: 00:01 June 7
Finishes: 23:59 June 20

Rules

Full rules are here.

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

This is the vote for the second special round of the season. For each voting choice you must pick a game and one of its sequels. In a series of three games or more you can choose any game you want, you don't have to choose the original if you don't want to. The series with the most votes wins and both games are played. In the event that a series with more than two games wins, and some have voted for 1&2, whilst others have voted for 2&3, the votes for each individual game will be added up and the two with the most votes played. The rejected game(s) will still be eligible for a future round. Remember that both games will be played over 3 weeks so pick things that are suitable for that length of time.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. If you don't, then you will get the treat of a PM from me, asking you to change your vote. If you still don't change it your vote will be discounted. If you aren't sure feel free to ask.

Edited votes will be discounted (unless you are told to edit it, and even then you can only edit the game(s) that aren't suitable) - so think before you post. Also you cannot vote for games that have already been played.

Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. You can only vote once, and also it could cause confusion if you post your vote on both boards - it's easy for it to be counted twice by accident.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state if you want to play the AGA version or not in your vote. If you don't specify we will assume you want the ECS version. If that game wins the vote we will count up the number of ECS and AGA votes and go for the version with most votes - unless the two versions of the games are exactly the same gameplay-wise, then we will use both.

The winner of Round 5 has double voting power for Round 6. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled.

Extras

- Lemon thread

Bugged Games

Lotus 2: The different online versions all have different scoring systems. If Lotus 2 is played everyone must use a special version that will be provided by this board, in WHDload and ADF format (UAE requires A1200 setup, High-Density floppy drive, 4MB Fast RAM).

If you know of any other games that could cause problems please PM me, Biscuit or mihcael.

To keep the troops happy

Might even make me like Slam Tilt. Not a fan over the years, feels less complete compared to the obvious.

Is not that bad from what I recall. I played and finished DD1 on Amiga, and was actually good fun playing it with my brother also. But some 20ish years have passed since last time I played it, so...

Just under nine-and-a-half hours to vote folks - if anyone would like to put in a vote and they haven't done so yet now's the time to do it.

Also due to dodgy laptop issues I won't be around in the evenings for a while (as from last Tuesday) so for the voting results tonight and (maybe) the new round threads and leaderboard updates next weekend you will be in the more than capable hands of Biscuit and mihcael

Whilst Graham is experiencing technical difficulties, I'll phone in tonight's vote.

It's been a pretty close one.

Bubble Bobble / Rainbow Islands / Parasol Stars = 39
21st Century Pinball = 37
Lotus Series = 28
Supercars = 27
R-Type = 25

Pinball can still win if it gains 2 points on Bubble Bobble. The tiebreaker would see Pinball win due to 3 first place votes, as opposed to Bubs 2 first place votes. For that to happen either Biscuit, Simon Humphrey, mihcael, mailman, or wilshy will have to win the current round.

If Bub wins:
Rainbow Islands = 31
Parasol Stars = 24
Bubble Bobble = 23

If Pinball wins:
Pinball Illusions = 28
Slam Tilt = 24
Pinball Dreams = 22

Edd the Duck did not place.

Doesn't the winner's vote get doubled for that, too? So Bubble Bobble and Pinball Dreams still would have a chance?

Ahhh. I'm still shaking of that round of Pinball last year on the knockout.

Thanks Biscuit!

To be honest, last year is now a dim and distant memory but if you put a gun to my head I'd be pretty sure that the double-voting applied to individual games back then too.

I suppose the one advantage of not being here very often at the moment is that I'm not the one getting all the headaches thanks to this voting system

It really isn't the easiest one you can think of, but I'm sure those who are responsible for it know why it is this way Anyway, enjoy your time off from the madhouse

Oh all three of us are responsible for it - just a shame we can't remember how the bloody system actually works! Oh well, we always stumble through somehow

Already getting withdrawal symptoms so hopefully it won't be long before I'm here 'full-time' again, as it were.

I may have to actually try to get a higher score to prevent pinballs from happening? NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo. Megaball is cool but boring to me. I think Cyber said it best, Arkanoid is better.

pinball or the rainbow islands will be awesome. Megaball does get very boring/annoying after the 50th time of playing it...

If it wasn't for the competition I would have stopped playing it a long time ago.

Yes. Those positions will change depending on who wins Megaball. I've been lazy and not worked it out yet. Too many possibilities.

I'm sure this will come as a surprise to nobody but these are the new updated results following Robo-Sparkle's double voting power...

1. Bubble Bobble series - 41*
2. Pinball series - 37
3. Lotus series - 28
4. Super Cars series - 27
5. R-Type series - 25

And the results for the Bub 'mini-league' are as follows...

1. Rainbow Islands - 33
2. Parasol Stars - 26

3. Bubble Bobble - 23

A close one but it's the later two games in the series that we will play for the next round...
