Forget the USB stick. A fast movement in one direction/fast button click (no fast wiggling required) is enough to notice the delay. It happens not every time, but often enough. Pretty annoying in platform games.

thirded...

it could use a tiny camera to sense the direction and avoid mecanical contact of the electrodes (they were subject to quick deteriorizing), but it should retain that "analogic directions" feeling. (sanwa solutions uses microswitches, so it's more akin to competition pro).

only the buttons should be a bit softer than the original ones... try play Xenon 2 without autofire with an original Tac-2 on amiga...

and lo! > perfect joystick!

I'm pretty sure that Speed-Link never noticed this delays. Doubt that they ever did proper tests with emulator games, before they released the stick.

I hope you're right. From my point of view, it would be infinitely better if they had released it without noticing the lag, rather than if they had noticed it, but then failed to come up with a fix.

I am trying to find a fix myself. The only obstacle then would be finding the time to get it finished.

Would this be a electronic fix in stick or software ?

Electronic fix in stick based on donor parts from a cheap usb joypad which has been proven to have much better characteristics.
