hmm, I'm all for motherboard hacks but I dare not mod cases. it just doesn't feel right ... except the odd button/switch here& there.

Agreed, hacking cases seems wrong. Although saying that I have glued an IDE/CF adaptor on top of my 600s PCMCIA slot, and made the slot slightly bigger...

After years of buying, selling, trading using, abusing and testing Amiga hardware, I'll have to go with a very conservative, non-expanded, plain A500 for gaming and older demos plus a disturbingly overpowered A4000T for everything else

I really would like to have the real thing again, but I absolutely do not have the space for it at the moment

So an emulator freak I am.

My towerized A4000 died from old age (and a very nasty leaking battery).

Although I still don't have any new hardware, I'm going for the new Amiga conceptions. I'll have a Sam440ep coming my way in a couple of months.

Although not really an Amiga anymore in hardware terms, I think the new Sam440 motherboards running AmigaOS4 could revive at least part of the community and spirit of the Amiga. It still is our OS after all (albeit modernized).

If only they would be cheaper...

No Emulators here (don't have any windows machines ).
Just the real deal... (A500 that is).

I love the sound of df0: in the morning...

Mainly use it to code assembler stuff (see if I can get a demo finished). Not playing games (although I would like a copy of Xenon II to play.).

I just emulate now.

I have an A1200 in the loft, and a 20gb 2.5" HDD sitting idly waiting for the day when I get it into the miggy.

Unfortunately I neither have a caddy or a 2.5" IDE cable, so it's unlikely to happen

Mind you, if anyone has any spares they'd like to donate, I'd be more than happy to give them a good home!

you can select multiple options, but many of them are phrased as single-answer only answers!!

i want to put all/none of the above... (a couple i could go with, but a few i'd be reluctant to state, but seem the only options available to include what is needed!)

edit: where is the 'amiga whore' option??

[QUOTE=TheCyberDruid;543148]Hallå där. Jag är från svensk Atari styrelsen. Kul att se dig
(blame Google for any mistakes )

Not that bad for being google translate actually

"Hallå där. Jag är från svenska Ataristyrelsen. Kul att se dig " would be more correct though (added an a to make it "svenska" and wrote Atari and styrelsen together otherwise it will have a different meaning.)

Err.. and about the thread, i'm using real Amigas but i also have a Pegasos 1 which i rarely use. And i recently borrowed a PPCboard and tried out AmigaOS4 on my A4000. I also use emulators sometimes but i prefer the real thing.

I just love hacking.... I suppose its just a natural evolution of the mechano mind, although I never had any mechano, had them stickle brick things...

However CASE mods are a little different.... you see these mods, display you and whom you are...

there are those that just HACK at it with what seem a hatchet, and on the flipside there are those that use sand-paper to make a cut!!!

I think a well thought out sympathetic mod goes a VERY long way, for myself I like to keep things look fairly STOCK and then surprise!!!! its got all that and and a bag of chips!

I suppose like a lot of you guys / girls and Ironclaw here appreciate time taken over a mod and full planning.... but lets be serious.... its all about the pics.... from concept to completetion.... !

I once installed 512kB via the trapdoor of my A500. Does this qualify me as anarchist?

Well, it is safely stored away and I use UAE, but I am ogling at Minimig, too.

what difference there is between:
Factory upgrades only
Factory upgrades with other upgrades available from the time....
i used my A500 and A1200 and the little upgrades i bought at the time happily since the former i gave away and the latter did break.

since 1997, when i was able to bring over to pc my own custom Workbench disk and the kickstart ROMs i emulate through DosUAE, Fellow, Winuae. i would not go back to the real thing, but i would like to use a netbook like amiga 600, i think (like the thing that guy did with a C64).

I'm a "3", and about to become a "4". I'm sure I will end up as a "5"!
