I agree, the MiniMigV2 (aka the FPGAAracde) has just had the first batch of 50 boards made

As closer they are to A1200, as bigger the boards - I hope they won't make a new Amiga with 2x double size

I absolutely agree with imploring Dave Hayne to do a new Amiga.

I wonder if he'd be interested? Who fancies asking him?

Probably one of the most experienced engineers from C=.....

FPGAARcade Replay production

Well, it took a bit longer than expected to get the production sorted out over the summer, but it is happening now.

10 prototype boards are being produced now, I should get them in 2 weeks (I'm on holiday). The next 44 boards will follow as soon as we have done some testing.

www.fpgaarcade.com for latest pricing.

Best,
Mike

Side economic comment:
(From the fpgaarcade webpage)
"The bad news is I have to pay sales tax here on the first boards, so that's an additional 25%"

What? Someone has 25% sales tax?????

8-O

desiv
(I admit, there's no sales tax where I live; so I'm the other extreme.. Don't worry tho, they "get" me with income and property tax.. ;-)

I wonder if that is something an Amiga owning corporate tax lawyer could help him work around? Anyone know such a person?

I'd love to know more about this. What speed 68000 will the soft core offer? How much (approximate) will a 68030 add to cost? What will the expansion board offer as someone on Amiga.org mentioned USB. Is a real HDD or CD possible or does that need a SATA interface added?

And of course when can we buy? this is the only possible product I would want in preference to winUAE

Is Dave Haynie the most experienced? Or is he just the most well known? Is he still active and up to the task of designing a new computer? After all, it took a whole team of very talented (younger than they are today) engineers and software geniuses to create the Amiga A1000 the first time around.

It was amazing that Dennis was able to create the original Minimig all by himself and the work of the Natami and FPGAArcade guys is also very impressive, but not many advanced projects these days can be done by single engineers, or small teams of 5 to 10 engineers.

Dave 'Hazy' Haynie was not part of the original Amiga Team.

I don't see anywhere that I claimed that he was part of the original Amiga Team?

Yes this interesting project is still alive....and it might even be for sale one of these days

Check out the latest video right here:

10+ MIPS is good enough for most WHDLOAD games and demos and they'll probably be able to squeeze a little more out of it

If you're going to ask 'are you mad' then it seems only fair to ask 'can you read'? :P

Try the post from August 31st where it says 'The exchange rates are all over the place, and until I get the boards in my hand these prices are subject to change.

Full card (with SVHS/Composite out) is looking like 220Euro today.
The "light" card without SVHS/composite is 200Euro.'

This is very, very, very cool. I love the idea.

Goes without saying this is all subject to change, and it's still in beta, and not in volume yet... But it looks like it's not too far away
