Extracting KG games packages on real amiga?

Let say I want to transfer Killergorilla's games packages with Winuae for real amiga usage. Long package names seems to cause problems when trying to copy it to amiga's HD with Winuae (a600 with ks2.05) so I just renamed package.

However is this correct procedure to copy full zip package (from kg's archive) to amiga and then extract its contents to hd? It takes ages due of its huge size to extract it on real amiga.

Extracting directly from zip package with winuae from PC's hard disk to amigas HD causes errors on Directory opus due of filenames.

So, in short, is there tutorial for dummies?

I just unpack the zip on pc, and then in winuae copy the (much smaller) files to the harddrive/cf. Then unpack in winuae or on the real deal..

Extract them all on the PC. Copy to CF card. Copy to miggy.

Easiest and also the most efficient way to do it I think.

Some of the whdload zip files have characters, which are legal for AmigaDOS, which are not for MSDOS... so I recommmend against extracting them on your PC unless you want to hunt the files down and rename them after copying them over to the Amiga....

That's true. It was mentioned many times here on EAB. ClassicWB has a decent DOpus setup. The unpacking of KG's WHDLoad packs works like a charm in WinUAE.
