And I'll thank th4t1guy for pointing me towards the directx executable file.

BTW how are you guys getting on in the game? I'm assuming th4t1guy has finished it like myself.

Remember:

a) if you get stuck Jades site linked above has a few hints n Tips

b) don't cheat by using those saved games I've included, it'll spoil your enjoyment!

c) SAVE YOUR GAME AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, IDEALLY AFTER EVERY LONG RUN YOU COMPLETE!!!!

I haven't been so lucky. I've been upto the point of the camera missions in the original miggy version, but FFE is a bit harder. It takes me an hour or two to get anywhere cause so many ships ambush me everytime I jump. However, they're no match for my ninja moves in my Viper Defense Craft

I just copy the whole thing to harddisk and run it from there. If you're talking about using the movies on the cd, keep in mind they don't really work that well, and will end up being more annoying than anything else.

Anyone really sunk their teeth into First Encounters yet? When I first obtained this gem, I didn't stop playing it until complete.

I had fast food surrounding me, switched all my house phones off and didn't wash for a week. Sleep was a secondary priority. Ok an exaggeration, but you get the idea.

There must be another obsessive nutter out there with similar game playing tendencies! Am I the only one to finish this game?

did you finish it when it was originally available or thru this recent upload?

i have only this for a couple of minutes, just to test it out...

... i haven't really got the time...

playing UT
playing around 2000 amiga games
playing a couple hundred Snes and Megadrive games
and all the rest of day-to-day stuff, working, interacting with family etc.....

i need to live on a planet further out in the solar system LOL

Djay, like I've mentioned above, I'd finished it back in 1997 while I was in education. LOADS of free time.
