I have a 1085S, almost new really, used it for a year or so with my A500 then "daddy" bought me a PeeCee, and all went to a plastic bag and stored inside a card box for nearly a 12 years, Also have its cables, a standard power cord and a 23 to 9 pin din connector if im not mistaken.
I can test all the ends and make you a schem if you like.

The cable is really short, 1 meter or less, a custom cable is better imho...

I think you are mistaken, every 1085 I have ever seen has a DB9 connector.

@DoogUK: 1084 pinouts, all 3 variants and Amiga video connector pinout.

Yes i checked it, its in fact a Male DB9 connector with only 6 pins ( all five pins on top but only the second of four on bottom)

Just Like this:
_____________
\ 5 4 3 2 1 /
\_9_8_7_6_/

@DoogUK
May this be the variant your looking for?
