What's your favourite platform game ? (All platforms)

Following the originality around here in EAB , I ask you guys this
What's your fav platform game in any platform?

I Like Ruff 'n' Tumble a lot, it has action, some really cool enemies, great bosses, perfect difficulty level, cool level design ..

Excellent game

Gosh, there's so many. James Pond II: Codename Robocod (Amiga) was always a favorite that I could pick up and play anytime, but I think I have played that one out. Trolls I always found to be superb, even though I think the general consensus probably disagrees with me. I'll think more on this.

Super Mario Bros. (NES) was also a game that I spent entirely too much time on. Regardless of how many times I beat it, I still would fire the cartridge up and see if I could beat it better.

Im a big fan of the Mario games, to me they are great examples of the genre.
Gods is also one of my faves although Its probably not the best example of a platformer.
Rainbow Islands IMO is probably the most fun platformer Ive ever played. I think its the perfect example of 'pure' gameplay and I never get bored of returning to it.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Mega Drive: I still keep the cartridge

Barbarian II (Psygnosis version) - Amiga: Not a perfect example for a platformer either but I like it to this day.

Wonder Boy III the Dragon's Trap - Master System: If you haven't played it yet, do it today

I don't like to play plumbers with gay mustaches in a game so I never liked Mario.

God I love platformers.

My amiga favourites:
Addams Family
James Pond 2
Superfrog
Fire and Ice
Yo Joe
Pierre the Chef - Out To Lunch
Zool
Parasol Stars

Like everyone else I love the Mario games (except Mario RPG and Yoshis Story)

Ive never liked sonic games that much at all

I dont know what to classify Nights on Saturn as, but ill put it here anyway. I love that game, its an absolute classic.

May as well stick my oar in...

All platforms, eh? How about:

Mr Freeze (Speccy)
Rockman (Speccy)
(Any) MegaMan (NES)
Wonderboy (Arcade) (If that counts; perhaps not)

I'm another Mazza fan -
Super Mazza Bros 3 (NES) and Mazza64 (N64) are, ahem, 'well wicked'.

Sonic the Hedgehog is my favourite platform game, excellent design, varied themes, super fast and original subgames!!!

On the Amiga thou, i'll go with James Pond UnderWater Agent if that counts, one of the first games i played on the Amiga having *upgraded* from a C64, i was impressed with the amount of colours and the depth (no pun intended) of gameplay.

I still never found out how to play Operation starfish properly, how to use the things, what the cheese is good for and so on.

Soccer kid is a classic indeed. I remember I didn't want to try it in the first place since I've never been fond of soccer games and I thought it was just another soccer game.

*gets beaten by all SWOS fans on the forum*

It's partially a platform game. If you go above the sea it is.
