completely lost in setting up winipac

i'm hoping someone can enlighten me on this problem. i currently have a candy cab with the joystick/buttons set out as follows:

Joystick 1
Up, Down, Left & Right - Cursor Keys

Buttons:
1 - X
2 - C
3 - Z
4 - E
5 - V
6 - B
7 - N
1P: (Enter)

Joystick 2
Up - R, Down - F, Left - D, Right - G

Buttons:
1 - A
2 - S
3 - Q
4 - H
5 - W
6 - I
7 - K
2P: 2

i have managed to get the 2nd joystick to work for games, but what i want is to have both joysticks working in unison, so i can have a two player game of sensible soccer.

can i configure winuae to allow me to play games using these settings as the keys have already been configured to run on a about nine other emulators.

i'm running the cabinet on the maximus arcade frontend if this will help in any way.

thanks folks.

as far as i understand the joystick config, you have not much choices here. fixed keyboard layouts are only offered here (game & IO port). a configurable layout would be nice here (right ctrl for fire is to close on cursor keys)
what i not really understand, and never realy used is "Input". configuration 1-4. here you can configure keys like, for example, "joy1-up" and "joy2-up" within the same config. but dont ask me how this works.

ah, forgot, welcome.

Edit: have a look here: http://emumovies.com/wordpress/?p=45
needs a login to download the tool *argh* ... :/

I have an account with Spesoft Forums.

I've uploaded WinUAE Config Creator v1.1 to the Zone.

See this thread for details:

And here are the bitmaps which accompany the application:

Maybe WinUAE Loader would be more useful.

Get the latest WinIPAC downloads here:

Also, this thread gives some advice on WinUAE key mapping:

Learn to use Input-panel, you can configure everything and more.

Thanks, Toni, but this reply:

suggests that it's not always easy.

I never said it was easy. I only said it is possible (someone said in above urls that you can't map keys in WinUAE..)

Thanks again, Toni!

In that particular thread, someone else went on to explain how it could be done (though not using the Input-panel, admittedly ).
