You know the ironic thing about ST v Amiga?

The ST was designed by ex-Commodore engineers and the Amiga was designed by ex-Atari engineers.

Funny old world innit?

I think Test Drive on Atari ST is little faster and smoother but sound is really TERRIBLE. Also there is no sound when you crash, only "spider web" from nowhere.

All I can say is WOW!
I honestly thought that Falcon demo would be about as far as an '060 powered box could be pushed - thanks v. much for sharing. Oh, & Paula may be getting on a bit, but she's still got it...
...must give this a go on my '060 A1200.

Oh! You're that ass I saw over at the atari forums who joined just to stir up some shit. Real mature

Big grin

Ah the Good Old Amiga Vs ST willy waving.... makes me feel like I'm 14 again. Glad I stayed out of it and bought an Acorn Archimedes which imho technically pissed on both in some areas, (although wasn't strictly a games machine) yes it lacked custom graphics/sound chips but had a whole lot going for it.....

Sadly it never had the scale of software/hardware development that the Amiga/Atari had (and in many ways still have)

No I'm not trying to turn this into an Archimedes Vs Atari Vs Amiga mudslinging contest.

That said... I'm getting an Amiga soon
Atari Lynx are cool tho... I've still got mine

I'd love to hear from some Aussie people about qwhat they saw regarding the ST? I remember nothing ever being mentioned, no local ads, Amiga was everywhere and Atari made arcade games!!

As far as superiority goes - I loved the sound generation possibilities on the Amiga, I still use OctaMED to do some retro tunes for CDs etc. Most people talk about the graphics but I personally think the audio of the Amiga really separated it from anything else.

Do you really want me to comment that? Go and watch the demo again and get some clues...

Allright the video is very nice and the music too.I guess that it was designed only with Amiga computers, that is cool but...it's just a video.

I can just repeat myself, watch the demo again and get some clues... It's not "just a video".... Except if you call realtime demos video...

No I'm not. To quote: "no animations, pfft.. all realtime". So much for "no code created for the demo".

Just in case you are interested, the demo was coded by Aivo/ex Mellow Chips and Kalsu/ex Mellow Chips and both were/are highly respected (Amiga) coders. 2 coders for just an animation player would be a bit silly, don't you think?
