Shame on you lot! Exile is pure enjoyment and immerses you like a sponge in water.
Gotta agree with Photon - and you Exiled of course .

Exile's a superb game.

Print that cos it's gospel.

And dont forget the 10/10 given from Edge magazine in their retro section

Sad that Jeremy Smith died some years after the game released but i guess the game must have been a proud achievement under the belt at least at the time.Wonder what games he may have gone on to design

Exile on the BBC is the best game for the BBC from all the games I saw rated. I am happy to be able to play it now on Amiga through emulation, next to the enhanced Amiga versions. Are they doing remakes of it?

I think it's just one of those games you just need to persist with, it is a very difficult game because it's boundaries are stripped away, so the path you make within it is really your own. It captured my imagination - you truly do feel lost on an alien planet because there are no indications as to what you should be doing. A prospect which is daunting to many because you have to try very hard to make sense of it all. To this extent, it's not really a casual game. When I played and completed Exile, it took 6 hours according to the game time, but I think it actually took half a year of playing to accomplish.

It's little confusing to remember, because,at the time of completion I took to creating a very detailed diagrammatic guide of the hardest bits in the game also. So, my memory is thin on the matter.

I had it for CD32 but swapped for some other game
I decided to collect all good (imho) games released for the machine. They're not too numerous - thanks for reminding me of Exile, have to start looking for it too.

That's what so cool about the game in my opinion. Everyone made a big deal over games like Grand Theft Auto in recent years because you could go where you wanted and do what you wanted when you wanted.

Exile has this too. Although it's slightly more constrained in Exile (by locked doors and things...) it's still there. You have to work out which things do what and why but you do it your own way and at your own pace.
