1.5.4b2 was still ok. From 1.5.4b3 is broken...

1.5.3 colors OK on initial start. However, closing and re-opening causes sporadic black horizontal lines to be painted. Same goes for beta up to 1540b2. 1540b3 is first that fails to show right colors at start.

b10 is pretty slow for me. b8 has been best so far.
Keep up the great work, Toni! |

I noticed vast differences between b8 and b10 playing Turrican 2 via WHDLoad. Whilst running like an ace on b8 and earlier, it slows down significantly on b10. I will try b9 and report back. EDIT: Same with b9. Significant slowdowns. Switching back to b8, Turrican 2 runs like a charm. |

I can't duplicate. Perhaps it depends on WB resolution settings?

Turrican 2 runs great for me with latest beta. No slowdowns at all. I have AMD Dual Core @ 4400, 2 GB RAM, Vista Business SP1.

Son of UChess
It's just the default 4-color 640X256 hires PAL screen. I don't know if this will help but I've also discovered a similar anomaly on DeluxePaint 5. When starting, select 64 colors with the slider at lower left. When it starts the right two columns of the color selector are wrong but dragging the screen down a few lines cleans it right up. Maybe some of the other folks can test too.

If so, then the leftmost image is the correct - the extra 32 colours are not under user control, and are half the brightness of the first 32. The second image in this case is the incorrect one. If I'm not recalling correctly, then I'm obviously talking out of my arse :-) D. |

no, you are right... the first palette is the ExtraHB one: 32 colours and 32 darker tones of the same, as it is supposed to be.

Agreed it lools like EHB but this is supposedly AGA picture so I still think palette on right is correct.

In beta 4 and above several CD32 games will not boot eg: sensible soccer (either version).

Toni:
Using b10 (and also b9) I just tried loading my games menu and booting a WHDLoad game and WinUAE hung, then I had to force it to shut. I loaded up snoopdos and it just kept showing me that winuae was constantly trying to access clipboard.device (and FAILing) I do not have this in my devs/ dir. I copied the clipboard.device into the devs drawer and it stopped crashing.

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae_1600b11.zip
Beta 11: (still long way to go..) - fix for graphics corruption introduced in 1.5.3 when bitplane DMA fetch happened while bitplane pointer was updated - AGA 6 plane mode (non-EHB) was not always enabled properly (b3) - added -clipboarddebug command line parameter that writes clipboard contents to file in winuae directory. (clipboard_p2a.xxx.dat and clipboard_a2p.xxx.dat) - added ripper path to Paths panel, used by prowizard and sample ripper (previously sample ripper used screenshot directory and prowizard used winuae root directory) - directory filesystem ACTION_CHANGE_MODE was completely broken in CHANGE_FH mode, returned error and "Error: couldn't find key x / y!" was logged. Bug since the beginning - clipboard: multiple CHRS chunk merging fixed (again), less stupid clipboard.device detection - blitter line mode (only if linedraw code was "weird") broke in b3 - file selection dialog (adf, hdf etc..) remembers previous filter mode ("*.adf", "all files" etc..) |

[OT] just out of curiosity: passing to Windows 7 (from Vista) will cause major uncompatibilities with Winuae? [/OT]

However, it seems to work perfectly on the middle compatibility setting. In fact, it's running quite happily in demo mode in the background as I'm typing this! @ Toni: Logs attached for the "Best Compatibility" setting. @ espontaneo: What other CD32 games didn't work? Steve. |

Turrican 3 (final, Hoodlum crack) is badly broken in the current beta series.
Quickstart A500 "most common" configuration:
I also had some other random errors like distorted samples in the intro music, but those weren't reproducible. The game works fine with the latest official release of WinUAE. |
