You forgot magic word "happens only in fullscreen". Fullscreen not mentioned = not going to test in fullscreen, simple as that

Beta 25:

- Picasso96 crash in some specific cases when 8bit->16/32 or 16->32 conversion is used (bug since new Picasso96 emulation was introduced)
- "yes/no"-style dialogs in fullscreen with active GUI: mouse was (incorrectly) captured when exiting the dialog
- switching between ce and non-ce mode in some blitter heavy programs could have frozen the blitter (workaround was to switch back to original mode)
- input was disabled when in "mouse driver" mode and focus was lost and regained
- DXSDK update, D3D support requires March 2009 DX runtime or newer
- D3D fullscreen "border" flickering fixed

No, like a strobe light effect, constantly flickering between white and black.

I see you've fixed it anyway, should read to the end of the thread I suppose. Will test it when I get home.

It was implied with the resolution 1920x1080, but I apologise for not being clear.

Middle compatibility does work you are right, it's most compatible that doesn't.

The CD LED lights up but the CD32 loading screen never shows and on my PC the CPU usage reading hovers between 0 and 2% indefinately.

Hi,

I can't get the latest beta 25. Is winuae.net down again?

It seems so. Can someone upload it to the Zone for me, please?

Thanks,

I just tried the new beta with Blood Money and did not notice the problems the other poster mentioned about it -
the splash screen-being misshaped.I worked fine !
Now if I could remember how to escape from that screen ?

Pang
Status report: new "horizontal resolution change"-update broke this. Pang-issue may not be fixed in 1.6.0, it needs some logic analyzer testing and in worst case it requires too big changes which isn't good so late in beta series..

Beta 26: (couple more to go..)

- added transparent support for ICD AdIDE "bit swapped" disks and hardfiles. Each 16-bit data word has bits swapped, bit 0 = 15, bit 1 = 0, bit 2 = 14, bit 3 = 1 and so on (reason is most likely PCB cost) Listed as "CPRM" in "Add Harddrive" list because first (which is normally hidden) block starts with ascii string "CPRM"
- wrong sound device was selected if configuration was loaded and DS, OpenAL or PortAudio had 100% identical device names
- bsdsocket not too common connection issue fixed (b15)
- sound card index in config file > number of sound devices = very slow emulation
- added "All" option to RTG RGB format selection menus (make sure "ENV:Picasso96/ShowModes" contains "All" or only single format per color depth is available in screen mode dialogs)
- autoscale: show blank display using previous scaling instead of defaulting to non-scaling
- NTSC vertical centering fixed in scaled modes
- D3D and OGL mode was not properly closed when switching to windowed/fullwindow RTG mode (old graphics was visible depending on screen/scaling etc..)
- AHI is broken in this version, do not use.

In b26 I’ve found two problems that b25 doesn’t have.

First, when configuration is saved with b25 with on-screen-leds off, b26 Misc panel shows them on, and b26 comes up with them on. Saving with b26 doesn’t fix problem. They’re always on and set to on. Full screen and windowed.

Second, the NTSC vertical centering with scaled wasn’t broken with full screen or windowed, both are now. I noticed back in the beginning of this beta series the NTSC screen was about 10% down using my 1530 NTSC presets, but scaled mode brought it back up and worked perfectly. The screen is still in the same place with b26 using my NTSC presets but scaled doesn’t bring it back up anymore. It sets all the other settings correctly but not the vertical centering. PAL works correctly. I’m using the Scale2x filter, but all the other filters except the Direct3D also don’t work. OpenGL is unsupported so can’t test. All four settings are set to zero when testing scaled.

I thought maybe the two problems above were connected but appear not to be.

Show Leds setting doesnt seem to be saved right. Always defaults to on when saved off.

Nightlong is working fine now that the 15bit modes are easier to access.

Broken NTSC mode scaling also confirmed. Need to find better solution

I know this isn't a bug report, but I just got around to trying this latest beta and the new settings for auto-scaling in the DirectX filters really makes it easy to get a nice screen that scrolls clean as glass.

Awesome emulator...

Nobody except you apparently use NTSC ("real" NTSC mode, not PAL Amiga in NTSC mode) which should explain the problems

Beta 27:

- on screen led was always enabled (b26)
- scaling in NTSC mode really fixed (b26)
- enabling autoscaling and no filters enabled: select Direct3D if at least 2.0 shaders supported (=fast enough), only select Null filter if older. (D3D9 scaling is "free" on modern hardware)
- Logitech LCD SDK updated (currently waiting for G19..)
- autoscale found sprites outside of bitplanes when BRDSPRT was enabled without ECSENA
- vertical positioning in autoscale was wrong in some cases
- AHI works again
- always enable Picasso96 BIF_INDISPLAYCHAIN (not enabled means RTG mode display size of 0x0 pixels = crash)
- delayed printer open, do not open until enough data received, also ignore data completely if less than 10 bytes received
- added "ASCII Printer" option. Select this option if you use programs that print directly to emulated parallel port (bypassing Amiga printer drivers) and they expect old-style printers that directly accept ascii text (Action Replay, demo scene disk magazines etc..) In future this will also include emulation of old Epson matrix printer control codes (de-facto control codes that most printers supported at that time)
- added missing "Automatic" aspect ratio setting in Filter panel
- selecting "Full Window" mode when no filters enabled = also enable Direct3D + FS. (this is what users apparently expect, not confusing tiny image on the middle of screen)
- development PC updated to Windows 7 RC

Hey Toni, how close to a stable release would you say that you have come, taking the last beta into account?

I'm guessing you've changed a lot of stuff this time around? Since the last version only had 8 beta's, but this one has 27(!), and counting. 0_0

Hi Toni,

I tried the beta 26 and I noticed that Rainbow Islands still shows a graphic "glitch" on the screen: the score digits are "cut" in the bottom part.

I don't know if someone else pointed this out before (I did'nt find it searching on EAB). If so, sorry.

Thanks

Found a bug for beta27 and port audio driver:

Using the same 060/8MBchip/256MBFAST config but changed sound to port audio driver instead of direct sound.

Start WinUAE, then click on power which goes into main WinUAE config menu, and if you click OK right away or if changed settings, then click OK, WinUAE crashes back into Windows with an error. This happens irregardless if it boots into AmigaOS or not.

Changing sound driver back to DirectSound works but adds back ~ 150+ ms worth of sound latency!

Using WinXP with attached config and port audio dll.

In addition to my previous list, here are the remaining CD32 games from the TOSEC collection that refuse to work with "Best compatibility" set in the quickstart config (infact it seems they only work if JIT is enabled)

Clue!, The (1994)(Kompart)[!]
Diggers & Oscar (1993)(Commodore)[!][compilation][AMIGA-CD-V2]
Fire & Ice - The Daring Adventures of Cool Coyote (1994)(Renegade)[!]
Grandslam Gamer Gold Collection (1995)(Grandslam)[!][compilation]
International Sensible Soccer - World Champions v1.2 (1994)(Renegade)(M4)[!]
Kang Fu (1996)(ALTER interservice - Greed)[!][Amiga-CD32]
Legends (1996)(Guildhall Leisure Services)(M3)[!]
Pinball Illusions (1995)(21st Century Entertainment)[!]
Pirates! Gold (1993)(MicroProse)[!]
Sensible Soccer - European Champions v1.1 (1993)(Renegade)(M4)[!]
Soccer Kid (1994)(Krisalis)(M5)[!]
Super Stardust (1994)(Team 17)[!]
Theme Park (1995)(Mindscape)[!]
Universe (1994)(Core)(M4)[!]

I have attached a log created from one of the above (Diggers and Oscar) and for the purposes of testing I have attached a log from a burnt version of the same game just to prove it's got nothing to do with Daemon tools.

Last working version is the same as before.

Not working = Will not boot and doesn't show the Amiga CD32 screen with the spinning CD text.

i've also noticed something odd with the CD32 in beta27. if i'm running a game and prees F12 to go into the config menu and then resume the sound skips or bugs out and i hear nothing until the next track is "needed". it also doesnt loop back to the start of the sing. i've tested this in Pinball Fantasies and James Pond 2. the same results happen wether i'm using either Daemon Tools or using my actual disks.

Beta 5 it started acting up. i tested 1.5.3 and beta's 1 to 4 and they do not have this oddity. this occurs in James Pond 2 on all of the levels and in Pinball Fantasies it happens on the table select screens.

Hi Toni,

Odd problem here, I was running beta 25 happily, I didn't spot 26 so skipped to beta 27. I ran it directly (no gamebase) and it seemed to do nothing, no window, no anything but it did update a bootlog.

EDIT....

Ignore, remembered I was getting stuttering playback on the DELL and had changed the audio driver to the Vista generic one (made no difference). Swapped back to the proper DELL one and it's fine now.

Sounds like it was trying to initialise a non existent device??

My mistake, sorry for the very quick trouble..

Did you install portaudio library? Try deleting it (b13 was first to introduce portaudio support). Try also rebooting

Log unfortunately is truncated which seem to point in mysterious crash.
