Mmmh.... using WinUAE1.6.0beta (tested since b13->21), whenever I do a software reboot (e.g. C:Reboot) on the Amiga side, Amiga memory after reboot will be messed up:

I have to reboot (ctrl+lwin+rwin) twice to reset everything and reboot correctly with the expected amount of mem.
This happens only after a software reboot.

Doesn't happen with WinUAE 1.5.3.
Attached my bootlog.

Most likely caused by clipboard sharing initialization which can happen too early (before dos.libary is fully initialized, dos initialization code is backwards, first it adds library to library list and then does the initilization..)

Next beta does it differently. (using RTF_AFTERDOS resident)

Mem watch points within range crash WinUAE

b21 - Tested with QS A500+/2MB; last known to work on b14
Try setting a few sample watchpoints then try between b0000 fffff

>w1 afffe 2 rw 1
Memwatch breakpoints enabled
1: 000AFFFE - 000AFFFF (2) RW =1
>w2 100000 4 rw 2
2: 00100000 - 00100003 (4) RW =2
>w3 b0000 2 rw 3 CRASH!

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae_1600b22.zip

Beta 22:

- do not change priority if current priority is HIGH or REALTIME
- command line parameter parsing crash fixed
- added 5:4 aspect ratio to rtg and filter settings
- archiveaccess filename encoding fixed (b15)
- recursive archive support fixed (b15)
- added adf, rdb and hdf "archive" support. It is now possible to browse adf/hdf/dms/ipf/fdi/extended adf inside zip/lha/whatever archives when mounted as a harddrive (uaeunp.exe feature mainly)
- clipboard initialization should really be after dos initialization, should fix random "UAE clipboard sharing" crashes when booting
- debugger crash fixes (b15)
- lha non-extended file/dir timestamps fixed
- 7z SDK updated to newer version, timestamps supported
- diskspare (12/24 sector) disk images supported, also includes "plain" adf files that have exact diskspare format size
- dragging to windowed mode HD-"led" forces harddrive mount (for example adf is mounted as a harddrive, normally dragging autodetects type and inserts adfs to disk drive)
- dragging file to harddrive panel also automounts it immediately if emulation is already running

Beta 22 doesn't seem to recognize any kickstart roms in the specified roms folder.
Anybody else have this problem?

[edit]
Unzipped them and it works now.
Beta 21 recognized them fine zipped up.

Beta 22 crashing with highspec setup which was working fine with all Betas until now:

060,RTG 800x600,8MB chip, 256MB fast.

Never boots into WB. Crashes out and dumps log.

Log and dump file attached.

Reverted back to Beta 21 and all is well.

just a curiosity, does it work again if you use the very same settings in a new configuration file?

Not very useful report.. What kind of disk image? Is it even supposed to be bootable image? Which version? etc...

Disk images inside archive confirming not working ("can't load disk image" isn't exactly same as "can't load zipped adf"... Details, details!)

Archived files still not working for me with latest fix posted by Toni.
Zipped up kickroms are still not recognized and zipped up adfs refuse to load.
Logs attached for what it's worth, WinUAE doesn't crash or make a crash dmp file.

I don't know as I haven't tried it yet but when I use beta21's exe, with the same config file, it works great with no problems.

I know 060 code is not fully supported but kinda fun to see 1GHZ 060 emulated with my PC. So far, most HD friendly games works great.

You sure it isn't some utility in startup-sequence? Remember that "It worked previously" isn't answer because clipboard sharing and other stuff uses few 1000 bytes of memory now compared to older versions.

That screenshot I made was done without even loading Setpatch and the rest of the Startup-Sequence. Nothing was loaded. First command of my SSeq was "Quit" I've just done an Avail command...
WinUAE 1.5.3 with the exact same config etc. always works fine after a software reset.

Wait! I've just intercepted an UAE Clipboard Sharing DEADEND guru just after the software reboot! So that seems the cause as you supposed. It's strange though: if I boot 1st time as usual with full SSeq there is no problem. If I then start a software reboot (2nd boot) I start to have those memory messy issues with UAE Clipboard Sharing crashes...

You never said that. That was another very important detail that should have been included in first post..

Attach configuration. Does it also happen with quickstart configurations?

Sorry, I thought the sshot was self-explainatory.
Can't test with quickstart cfgs ATM (I use to boot from my HD-file SFS formatted...a real Workbench 3.9 environement). I need to find some WB3.1 ADF disks first as I need to run the Avail command etc...

Attached my cfg.

Do you use some custom kickstart rom? I can't duplicate with standard 3.1 + wb3.1 disk.

Still a little bit quirky.
If kickroms are zipped and I scan kickrom folder WinUAE finds nothing.
If I on the other hand select a zipped kickrom manually it works.
Zipped adfs seems to work fine now.

Btw quick question here.
What's this ?
Code:
20-031 [56 068x147]: Illegal instruction: 4e7b at 00FC0564 -> 00FC0582

Yes I use BlizKick... let me change kickstart 3.1 image and try again...
Doh! Using another kick 3.1 image I can't reproduce the mem-messy issue!!
Very strange though: with WUAE 1.5.3 also the other ks runs always fine...
Can't remember where the other kick 3.1 comes from. It's quite old.

I still have random UAC Clipboard Sharing errors 0x80000008 before SSeq gets loaded after a reboot...

Bootup is fixed. Thanks Toni!

Was playing with the filter settings again using hard drive installed versions of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis ECS/OCS (using title screen to test filters) and Sixth Sense Investigations AGA and found OpenGL filter to be broken.

It won't scale properly to my "windowed" 800x600 desktop with auto scale, or auto size, or any of the point or bilinear settings. Setting to NONE would sometimes show the all the contents but garbled borders around. Switching to full screen from window a few times would erase the garbled borders back to black.

PC Specs - Windows XP SP2, Nvidia GeForce 6800 256MB Ultra, Realtek onboard sound, 2.6 GHZ Pentium M cpu (32bit core solo), 2 GB RAM.

PC OpenGL apps works near flawlessly. I have set and reset AA in the control panel but it has no effects on 2D content. Anistropic Filtering at 16x, all Nvidia Optimizations turned OFF.

Wait a moment. You said you booted only once directly to shell screen. You can't do that with blizkick (need second boot) so what EXACTLY you did?

EDIT: and which configuration? (clipboard crash). With or without custom roms?

It is supposed to be. And most likely won't be fully fixed. Current OpenGL filter is totally incompatible with autoscale etc stuff and I won't rewrite it. (unless there is some good example somewhere)

Toni, this might look like its off topic but its not.

I tried the new semi beta and it does indeed boot zipped roms so a big thank you but the weird thing is that under Gamebase (hopefully you know of Gamebase) it does exactly as before you fixed it, goes to kickstart and ignores file.

My questions are, would the fix you did affect parameters being passed via command line in a script ie should direct booting be the same as command line and vice versa.

And lastly, if the above is yes has the beta of the emulator had any command line changes?

Thanks...

Beta 23:

- archives (zip etc) didn't unpack (b22)
- directinput keyboard was not always unacquired when focus was lost
- hq2x/3x/4x crash in specific situations (old random bug)
- clipboard initialization changed again, now initialized after all other residents (previously it was after dos)
