My errr.."New' Apple Quadra 900

Look Retroman and Akira. I got this today. I was given this machine by my freind, who was cleaning out his closets. What can I do with it? Can I play Apple 2 GS games on it? Can I cannibalize it to make it Amiga? Help.

Whoa! I haven't seen (or even thought about) a Quadra in years. Apparently, this particular model is pretty beefy (holy smoke, willya look at that pricetag?!?) I doubt if you'll be able to do any IIGS stuff on it, but it should run those Mac gfx apps pretty well (or at least, the 90's versions of them) and Flight Sim 4.0 should kick butt on it (I still have this game from my A-Max days!) I have some cool old apps for the Mac from the 90's, but they're all on A-Max disks, so I can't get to them at this time...

Yeah I think so, this was their high density floppy drive, instead of only supporting 800K.

I thought I got a deal on a PowerMac 5400 for my son but he never uses it at all. He hates MacOS and a one button mouse. I was hoping he would use it to play his fav game Starcraft but he still plays it on my Winblows box instead.

Sadly it looks like old Macs don't keep their value. Apple trys to kill off the old to make people buy the new.

I think thats one of the fucking bestest 680x0 Macs there are... nice catch!
You CANT play Apple IIGS games with it, but you can play all the 68k apps and gaems with it. I dont think youll find much use with the ting, unless you convert it into a routing server.

Id play Spaceship Warlock or Price of Persia with it Any 68k soft that you use with your Powermac (if any) will run MUCH MUCH better on this Quadra

You should be able to use MAC OS 8.1, which is the last Version running on 68k Macīs ..... also this thingy got a 040er CPU, so itīs quite fast for a 68k Mac Nice one .....

Retrowhore: I am well aware that 8.1 is the latest I can use. My old Powerbook 540pc was maxed on the great 8.1. I heard that someone had managed to run 8.5 , but it may be a rumor.
Yah, it is a fast baby

For 68k Mac stuff, try using the HOTLINE-Client (P2P Program)
