I will stick to the Amiga version then Never touched a BBC or a speccy, I guess I'm too wet behind the ears for that.

i knew the speccy comment would cause controversy.

being faster than the c64 version (before extra patching took place) obviously isnt good enough for some

The Amiga version is fine, and makes a lot of sense in that I think it will have missions included that other versions may have not had.

Back in 1990 (or whatever it was) though, I was really disappointed that they had done so little with the Amiga hardware after the very impressive efforts that had been made on the 8-bit versions.

Once you get past that (and you won't have to) its still a great game.

@Galahad/FLT

Yup, Amiga version is cool too. I have only played it on C64 & Amiga, long nights till the AM. I looked at Elite Plus on DOS a long time ago too but I remember something was missing in that version.

Sonically, the BBC and Spectrum versions probably sounded superior to the PC!

Well that's true enough Angus, all they really did was fill the graphics in with an argueably garish colour scheme.They could have expanded the idea a little here and there without ruining anything

C64 Elite has a coldness of space about it while the Amiga version has this lovely warm yet oddly sweet shop type of atmosphere - still very well done are the Amiga and ST versions
