You can't tell mine is only 32" - not when you sit less than 1m away

My problem is that wireless keyboard / mouse dont work well and get too much inteference. As a result I can only sit as far away as my wired keyboard / mouse will reach! Gaming wise - my controller has a huge long cable so I can game from afar!

Recent big screen TVs have very reasonable 50Hz support (remains to be seen for how long... ) and scaling algos way more advanced than anything ever built into a consumer grade monitor...

As for monitors some ViewSonic models support 50Hz natively, but of course you'd still get aliasing artefacts due to the scaler used...

You really haven't tried Amiga gaming until you've played IK+ with a nice projector on a 3x2 meter wall

For us in the USA, playing PAL games on a 1084 always sucked because a good portion of the screens would be missing off the bottom. This will likely not be an issue when the indivision board ships and I hook it up to the Dell LCD I have but we shall see.

I use the 1080 monitor...would be absolutely perfect if it had the built in stereo setup like the 1084S rather than the mono. It's amazing how much quality went into the Amiga parts, my monitor still works like new after what 23 years? I only really like playing games on that.

i had to give away my 1084S ages ago, but it was a GREAT monitor imho.

nowadays i use just winuae, and i love 16/10 TFT screens.

I find if you use the Filters in WinUAE to upscale/downscale the screen size you can overcome the widescreen dilemma easily enough. I am using a 19" 16/10 (same as Marco) and love it!

Resolution from old Amiga chipsets will always look ordinary on newer displays. Have you ever watched an analogue TV signal on a new digital set? Same setup I guess, newer displays are designed around much higher resolution, and many Miggy games were produced in fairly low resolution in order to get better frame rates.

I use a 19inch philips 109p CRT for games, much better colour and sharpness than the ultra-old amiga screens and LCDs (no interpolation). Colours are simply brilliant, not to mention ultra smooth scrolling and ability to handle 100hz and 120hz with picassoiv or winuae. Many amiga users seem to have crap CRTs and ancient multisyncs (for the old-skool look). I prefer LCDs over a crap CRT.

LCD screen I have does not have smooth scrolling even at 50hz which is its major weakness. Mind you if you prefer the blurriness of the old amiga monitors, the LCD does the job somewhat with its interpolation using native 1920x1200 which is better than lower resolution LCDs.

The 1084s is too small so I only use it if I want to lose my eyesight.

by the way, if somebody of you happen to use a 16/10 720x576 in Winuae, and would like to share a good setting for Direct3D filter to have the screen centered but without deformed lines...

or even suggest a different resolution, i would be thankful

For WinUAE I use 19" CRT Samsung with custom resolution (the same as winUAE) and with 100 Hz (very smooth 50 Hz games). On real amiga years ago there was 1084s-D1 (perfect picture) but now 21" Sony TV via SCART (could be better, interlaced resolutions are pain) but for games is enough.

Size does matter
Playing eye of the beholder some. All games with first person view really pops out with a projector.

OT
if you need a cheap projection "screen" check the 200x195 cm roller blind
