My future mod candy store!

I work as an IT Consultant for a small company here in Northern California. One of our clients is a games guide publisher, you know, like strategy guides and the like.

From time to time I get permission to dispose of their collection of ancient computer hardware. In preparation for adding a CD-ROM to my A1200, I decided to go in search of a suitable drive and I ended up finding two! The stack of old Compaq PC's behind the adding machine all have perfect Toshiba XM-1902B CD-ROMS with an argent bezel that matches closely to the function keys on the 1200 keyboard and a couple of laptops produced a compaq CD/DVD ROM but it has a black bezel and the shape of it would most likely look goofy mounted to an A1200 but I will try it just to see if it will work.

Other goodies in this photo are XBOX 360 development boxes (Notice the unit sticking out of the XBOX 360 Elite) a bunch of nice Trinitron multiscan monitors and tons of other cool stuff.

Just thought I would share!

I hope they're going to let you have some of that stuff.

A good bit of it is useless and I have to haul it off to the recycling center. I will probably grab a couple of the slimline CD-ROMS and it is always handy to have a multisync monitor around but not too much else worth messing with. If I had a tower Amiga there are lots of old SCSI CD-ROMS, tape drives, Zip drives and the like.

The gaming stuff is really cool but there is no way I would remove any of that. It basically allows the 360's to play burned ISO's of games from developers. I really like my job so I only take what they are throwing out.
