I can answer only roughly:
you can protect the copyright only in the case the object is still sold or licensed to sell by the producer: it is not the fact that you are businness dealer - or not - to affect your right to protect the copyright of the object, which is instead tied to the object itself.

Just because you buy a product from a wholesaler and then sell it on as a retailer doesn't mean you own the copyright.

The copyright stays with the original copyright owner.

You can ask for it to be removed from the FTP site if you are sure that it's still for sale and has a copyright attached to it.

Copyright is a funny law - a photographer owns the copyright to all his pictures even if you've hired him to take them As a videographer the same rule applies to me but I don't bother applying it because it's more hassle than it's worth

That's what I thought. I would never actually do this, I was just curious!

Yes, I discovered this the hard way. The photographer my wife and I hired for our wedding used our wedding photos all over his website to promote his services. We asked him to remove them, but he refused saying he owned the copyright.

I loan out my wedding DVDs that I've filmed as a demonstration of the quality and to give couples an idea of what I do but only with the prior permission of the bride and groom on the DVD.

The whole copyright/legality issue is always a favourite here at EAB

There's a relatively recent thread on the whole issue here if it helps anyone.

With my ftp client i have it set as all newer dates at the top of the list. That way i can see at a glance quickly which are the newer files added.

Just checked ftp to day and there is a lot of folders with ghost dates, where something has been uploaded and then removed. The folder date hasn't changed back to the last file upload date for the folder.

Magix have you a setting to make this possible, so no future ghost dates appear.

not faulty, sort of: "copy part1 + part2 => part-full" unlzx part-full afterwards.
not sure, how todo in amigados, but on a linux box something like: 'cat part2 >> part1', then unlzx part1.

Yes hit you're probably right.

I tried yesterday part 2 of the lzx has no header whatsoever. I'll try glueing the two parts and have another try.

hmm, i tried again, and found some "bad crc":
Code:
Extracting "PFS3/pfs3_images/PFS3.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/patch/multiuser060.pch"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/patch/multiuser040.pch"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/patch/multiuser020.pch"... crc good
Extracting "PFS3/patch/multiuser.pch"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_save.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_part2.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_part.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_filesys3.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_filesys2.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_filesys.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_editdrivetype2.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_editdrivetype.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/eng/doc/images/hdt_drivetype.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/ita/doc/images/PFS3.iff"... crc bad
Extracting "PFS3/data/ger/doc/images/PFS3.iff"... crc bad
i recall a multi-volume option, but not sure if it exists for lzx. maybe there is another solution.

Edit: not all in one block and inbetween the multiuser patches, the 020.pch is "good".

You were right, hit. I've joined the two lzx files and now the extraction goes well without any errors.

I've put the joined lzx in the PFS3 folder on rare apps.

But the install on wb 3.9 gives some errors that some files are in use.

I'm going to install wb 3.1 and see how it goes.

EDIT: installing with Italian language installs without problems

get ...all.lzx from magix ftp, same folder (rare_apps/PFS3/...) and unpack from within winuae, or a real amiga. it works. not a single bad file.

Hi Andy,

Yes they are. It's anonymous login and the port is the regular ftp one: 21

If you click directly on the link provided will go to the ftp root folder on your browser.

In FTP client you have configure it to access MagixFTP

well I used the username and password on the first page, i've tried my name on here, i'm using Flashfxp and its still not letting me on, it also states that its a private ftp and no anonymous login. The link to the http on page 1 working perfectly, but as i said i'm trying to upload some devioustools numbers 120 - 212 and DiskMagazineCreator 3 gold < dont think thats copewrighted anymore as andy gibson has stopped playing with his amiga and this is the FULL Version. yay, finally got connected must have typed a l instead of a 1. DMC comes as a RAR file which is internally 2 lzx files, 1 is the boot disk and 1 is the creator disk, lzx'ed from the .DMS files/floppy's. formatted as OFS

I dont know if anyone else has uploaded devious tools, but i uploaded the files as .lha each seperately, from 120 - 212 and Disk Magazine Creator 3 Gold as a Single rar, but inside as 2 lzx, each lzx will go onto 1 OFS formatted floppy. If the owner wants to move the files fine, I didnt know where he/she wanted them uploaded to, so i created my own name folder, if someone else could upload the other 119 files which i dont have to make it a complete set would be handy.

With KillerGorilla being busy with his WHD frontend I have created a bunch of preinstalled WHD games using his naming scheme.
I'm uploading them to the FTP in user/retroplay.
Might as well share them just in case somebody is too lazy to install them themselves.
