I agree, more so if left on auto mode while away from the pc.

BTW does it not retry with using the file retry mode, or maybe thats where the bug is at.

Thanks TCD,

Well at least it's not me who is going crazy. Well Skidmarks and Pinball Fantasies and Oscar/Diggers are already uploaded.

Now I've deleted Speedball2 from the server and started over again. Let's if now finishes well.
Then i'll start Microcosm and ProjectX/BodyBlows

Thanks!

Nice things you upload there mate Thank you very much

@exoticaga
Yeah, it seems like that when the connection is once lost, the bug occurs. Not sure what you mean with 'file retry mode'. Is it an option in FileZilla?

A good freeware cd-dvd tool for windows is the freeware ImgBurn. Relative of dvddecryptor.

Yes to any new ftp that's available or launching, pm me if a private one.

Hi exoticaga:

Project-x/Bodyblows:

Original: 225Mb
Fast mode with recovery: 176Mb 2 Min packing Core2Duo @2.33
Best mode with recovery: 136Mb +- 3Min

About Filezilla i allways used resume there is no retry function that i'm aware of.

Indeed. I used since last year version 3.0 and before that 2.2 has you say. It's the first time i'm using 3.1.

Let's see how Speedball2 goes. If not goes well reverting to old version.

I'll tell you later mate. Thanks!

Thanks TCD. Glad i'm sharing it to fill the collection of our Amigans mates!

Yes I have it on my PC, but only CloneCD worked at ripping the CD32 titles on my LG drive. All the other stopped with errors starting the rip.

The problem was finding a converter, besides installing yet another cd software. I already have Nero, Image burn, InfraRecorder, CloneCD, DaemonTools lite, and i'm not willing to install anything more.

On the settings > connection tab there is retry for when connection is lost.
xxx seconds beteen login attempts and retry again up to xxx times (xxx any number you choose).

Maybe its a bug that's reported here or one that will be.

Amiga must be among the first to protect their cds if you needing to use clonecd or similar to make images

Flip i've wasted some dvd space with using rar fast mode repack, ah least they unpack fast.

Ok referring to connections.

It's the default values: 2 retries and 5 secs delay.

But i think it's what TCD says. If Filezilla doesn't break upload connection with server, all is well. If breaks, then the bug!

Let's see if all goes well with Speedball2, if not. Reverting to 3.0 or 2.2 I'm afraid!

I'll analyze your link. And see if it's referred.

Exotic,

I was thinking the same. When ripping the CD's thinking. "what the heck?. I can backup 2008 DVD's with no problems and 15 year old cd's not?"
Amiga rocks! So much ahead of it's time. Even in 2008!

SSF2 took 22min to rip!

It's good, but not for free (well at least not like FileZilla is... ). Thanks for the tip Damien , I should have a look again (used it 2 years ago as 'Shareware' )

would be nice, if someone could add an index file to the CD-Images he is investigating. those AFCD/AACD for example, like it was made at the Merciful images (/User/stainy/*.index). for example:
on amigados: dir CD0: All > cd01.txt
on unix: ls -R /mount/cdrom > cd01.txt
on dos: tree z: /f > cd01.txt (so the manual page says)

so you know what you get. just a suggestion

Indeed. But it's not free. It's nonetheless a very good FTP software.

I also use Turbo ftp it is really good for verifying data for large ftp collections using the session mode. I normally use filezilla and check later with Turbo ftp to verify. The downfall is TurboFTP can only have connection thread working, not two or more like other ftp clients.

Best FTP client i know so far is filezilla v2. I couldn't get on with v3 it has to many bugs, and still has like above posts.

Hit,

I'm going to rip some 7 original utilities CD's (you can see on my first post here) and was thinking doing that.

Thanks for the tip and reminder.

Yes it is. Used it for ages. Use filezilla server with SFTP, and works like a charm. And I'm thinking in reverting following this upload.

On the positive side V3 as much cleaner user interface. But if doesn't work...

Why need for a retry with broadband, as magix ftp is normaly stable ftp. Unless your isp is dropping the connection. Using a different client will reveal problem if your broadband connection is good.
