Mas player (mp3) and long filename ?

Hello,

I'm using the hardware MAS player (on parallel port) and the software
MAS player v1.4 for playing mp3 on the amiga.
I would like to know if the MAS player software support long filenames
(with an appropriate filesystem of course) ?

i would say, it supports long filenames, have a look here:
http://www.mas-player.de/cgi-bin/mas.pl?site=mp3_amiga
the playlist screen shows some long filenames and there is room for even longer ones
(try http://translate.google.com/ to get english or french translation).

Edit: found the 1.4 screens: http://www.mas-player.de/cgi-bin/mas...e=mp3_amithlon
what makes you thinking it wont work with long filenames?
IIRC amiga ffs supports filenames upto 29 chars. using a fat32 filesystem would enable you to have filenames upto 255 chars in length.

My amiga 1230/os3.9 is using the FFS (25+4 max caract.)
I suppose I have first to use an another FileSystem for supporting the 255 caract. file names

Thank you

Amiga absolute max file/directory name length is 107 characters (dos.library restriction, dos FileInfoBlock structure file name array max size is 108 bytes which includes null terminator)

these picture show the board of the pro version. if you have screws on your device case, just have a look inside and compare, no clue else. first time i ever heard about this device
