Which series of B5 is that shot from?

I know the CG for at least series 1&2 (possibly 3) was done on amigas, later replaced by PCs.

Only the pilot episode was done on Amigas:

For the pilot, the effects were rendered on a network of Amiga computers; later, Foundation used 12 Pentium PCs and 5 DEC Alpha workstations for 3D rendering and design, and 3 Macintoshes for piecing together on-set computer displays.

It is a shot from the final episode of the 2nd season, I think the English title is something like "The Coming of Shadows".

@TheCyberDruid
A crap? No, it's nice, even if it is a very low-budget series. Sometimes I think to like hit more than Star Trek. There are many "subplots" very interesting and riveting!!!! ^^

@StevenJGore
I see... but I think is it too weird to be a coincidence... maybe the graphic artist was an Amiga-fan :P

Okay than I really should watch it again Just watched like two episodes and didn't find it too interesting, but maybe you need to watch more episodes to get the story

Steve.
I'm sure the 'Designing Tomorrow' doccumentary included with series 3 states that the first two series had been done on Amigas before changing to a cluster of PCs and DECs.

I shall have to watch this again...

No, no. You have to watch 1st season anyway, it is a prelude of many things that will happen later. Anyway, after the first 5/6 episodes even 1st series is nice to watch.

I am an avid Babylon 5, and whilst I agree the first season is not that much cop, there are some *KEY* episodes that fit in to season 2, and Three.

Episodes like 'Voice in the Wilderness' (Parts 1 and two), this is where they introduce Draal and the 'Great Machine' on the planet below, Bester is introduced (Walter koenig), as well as a *VERY IMPORTANT* episode regarding what happened to Babylon 4 as well as a *KEY* story to quite important episodes of later seasons.

Even myself who has seen the series a number of times, still get a WTF feeling from how some of the stories can really turn your head inside out trying to keep up.

Babylon 1, 2 and 3 were destroyed by sabotage, Babylon 4 "Vanished" without a trace, and B5 is to be the LAST. Season 1 episode "Babylon Squared" gives a view as to what happened on board B4 when it disappeared, and then followed on in Season 3. It still trips me out how the hell JMS (the writer/producer) pulled it off.

Season 1 also lays the foundation for the hostility between J'Kar and Londo and the events that unfold from that in later season (like the Narn/Centuri war).

What's nice about B5 is that it is a real story. Things don't get reset at the end of each episode to how they were before. You see the seeds of intrigue and wars in earlier episodes that will change the storyline profoundly later on. It looks a little ropey to start with but things get better quickly, and the story becomes more "shadowy" as thing progress.
