My sympathy friend But how could Psygnosis let it get this far I wonder? Surely they would have noticed the low quality of the game during development and could have canned it before you had to put so much effort into it?

Once I'd finished the tunes, I even spent ages prioritising every tracker step and putting the most redundant notes into the fourth channel so that you could barely notice the drop-out when a sound effect was played.

That sucks

I'll try the game out, I'm curious now

You did the music for F1 (well except the Vai & Satriani tracks) ????
I used to pop the PSX disc in my CD player to listen to that.

I know it's not a game but a demo (which I still haven't been able to locate for years )...
I think it was a stand alone scroll text demo with the hat of Spirou
That little demo thing was called "Wild thing" and contained the well known guitar riff from the song of the same name

Nicola Tomljanovich has made great metalish tunes. Black Viper's "Black Goddess Rises" is absolutely fabulous song. I wish someone could make a remix of that.

Sounds guitarish.. or at least like FM synth guitar samples

Substance demo from quartex-aliance design also had a nice guitar track

After the Sony buyout, we got lumped in with Sony Imagesoft in the U.S. and started doing loads of film tie-ins. It probably would have been impossible to can it due to having paid all the licensing fees and everything. I don't think quality was considered. We just had to get a game done. The Mega-CD version was the lead.

The influence of Sony Imagesoft was very detrimental to the Psygnosis name.

I'm very confident that had Sony not bought out Psygnosis and a couple of development teams presented Last Action Hero and Dracula for publication, the management of Psygnosis would have told them to 'jog on', 'not good enough'.

It's always irked me to this day that Sony closed down the name of Psygnosis, twas one of the strongest software brand names out there, in fact most of Psygnosis's early stuff on Playstation is what sold it in Europe.

Wasn't the "interface" sequence with Libertina in Sinbad fairly metallic rock guitar?

And, unhelpfully, the one bad point of the Marble Madness conversion to the Amiga from the coin-op was that they didn't include the heavy guitar from the title screen.

Yes, I liked quite a few of the ones suggested here. Jim Power has very nice music!
