Thumbs up AsimCDFS is looking for removed CD-ROM

Hi all,

I recently sold my A1200 which I was using with an external CD-ROM (IDE), using AsimCDFS. I sold the A1200 without the CD-ROM, and obviously no longer being attached, AsimCDFS is still trying to mount it during start-up.

As I no longer have the computer to play around with, I don't have the means to advise the new owner.

Could someone please help on how to remove the auto mount of CD0? The following is an extract of the email I received.

" I have a few problems with it! When it boots up it goes to that section asim_ atapi device unit 1 cdo ? "

Thanks heaps.

From memory I think this should do the job

In the DEVS drawer on the Harddrive - remove the CD0 icon from within DosDrivers.

Hi guys....

The new owner has told me that he has tried this and it still keeps doing the same thing. Could this be so ?

Thanks again.

I doubt it, if theres no driver loaded for the device cd0: then it won't look for it.

Unless the unit was listed as cd1: or cd2: etc....then they would have to be deleted.

It might be an idea to check the WBStartup drawer - it shouldn't be in there but you never know

Also would anything be in the startup-sequence or user-startup - again it shouldn't be but could be worth a look?

It seems that patience got the better of him and the HD has been re-formatted, losing all 7000+ adf/dms files I had put in the other 4 gig partitions..... Gone is OS3.9 and back to WB3.1 it is.

Thanks for your help anyway guys.
