Best looking Amiga?

While the Amiga was always known for its power UNDER the hood, it was never (unlike its higher-end competitive from companies like SGI or even Sun) for elegance on the outside. My question is this: which, if any, Amiga models do YOU think actually tried to go above and beyond the realm of "functional" design and actually edged into elegance. Personally, I think that the A1000 is the only one that really comes close, but I'm open to opinions.

I forgot to add one. I'm hoping people can write long-form answers rather than just picking things off a list

I actually thought the A1000 looked more a shoe box than elegant, but when it comes to elegance, i think the way the word AMIGA was styled and embossed into the plastic was absolutely stunning!

I liked the Walker... but that wasnt a true Amiga.

A600 is my second choice.

A1200 does it for me, and i second the amiga logo being fantastic.

The one i don't like is the a3000d...ugly looking machine IMO but each to their own.

Wink Smaller is better

I'd have to say the Amiga 600 looked the best, I found it's smaller size more appealing than the bigger, bulkier Amiga models.

Personally, I liked the A1000 best (as one of its proud owners of course ), because it was in my opinion - regarding the design - one step beyond my friends C128. I also liked the A500 but I thought the A1000 looked by far more professional.
Of course the Amiga logo itself is absolutely fantastic whereas I sometimes were close to pull away the Commodore sticker that was plugged on the A1000's front. But as always taste is a matter that's hard to discuss, everyone has his favourite design preferences so my opinions of course very biased

The CD32 looks better than ALL of them, with it's slinky dark grey case, sexy edges and that awesome, mysterious circular bubble on top with 32bit written on it! But the A600 comes second because it's just as small and cute.

Totally agree with the Doogster on all points, A1200 does it for me
However I do have a soft spot for the old A1000

A1200 is in both external and internal elegance, i just like the way everything fits inside, plenty room if well organized. I had a plain A600 long time ago...but due to profound stupidity i threw it into the garbage...i regret it to this very day!

I'm going to change my mind.

CDTV was the best looking Amiga. Shame about the stoopid caddy CD.

the problem with all amigas is the bad quality plastic that were made
any amiga model is now yellowed by the years...specially the keyboard......and that lamentably can't be solved...

the best looking amiga for me is the A1200...but ...when is in new condition or when is white like the snow

the worst looking amiga for me is the A500...was made of beige plastic (not white)...big and ugly and looks very ancient

The others amiga models...A2000..A3000 and A4000 looks today like a vulgar ancient AT PC

I think the A500 has a very elegant, modern look. Get a nice clean one, tidy away the leads and it looks quite sleek I think.

Second is the A3000 IMO. Althogh I've only ever seen it in pictures.

That is very true, everyone complaints the same, however my A1200 never had that problem, and its 16 years old, except for the space bar key...hummm, i wonder if its because my 20 minutes hands washing phobia.

I'd go for A600. It small size makes it very cute, especially when you see it live, not on pictures.
But I also find very cool the bay for keyboard under the A1000, and the A1000 keyboard itself with strange looking arrows and numpad.

It's not your hands washing phobia ....it's the bad plastic
the humidity and smoke penetrates the plastic and make it yellowed and ugly

btw, you can use a a fine sandpaper... to clean and bleach the space bar....but the most fine you can purchase it
but forget to apply that to the other keys...only for the space bar

I love A500 beige plastic. it made me think of the Olivetti pcs at school and the other ancient (now) gear that at the time, 1991 i could see only in a professional environment
