Where to get old DOS games?

Hi all,

I would like to find some old DOS games (1980s era I think, I have DOS5.0) to play around with on the (very slow & basic) PPC enabled A600.

Does anyone know a good place to download some of these games?

I'm getting a bit sick of playing nothing but Leisure Suit Larry on it...especially since the Amiga version runs much faster on my A1200 anyway

PZ.

Thanks guys , I'll get right on that tomorrow night...turns out I'm busy tonight...damn!

As for specs on the A600, it's just got one of these installed with an adaptor card:

Not the A600 version shown on BBOAH, this one isn't in a black box.

Are they even x86 based?

I think they are 8088 (An 8-bit cost down of the x86) and I dont think you're not going to be running anything games wise??

I seem to remember that even with the GVP PC286 card (For the GVP HD8+/A530) you could hardly run any PC games.

You are certainly not going to be able to play any PC game made after 1986 (when PC's when 32-bit).

I've played a few PC DOS games on this so far, my brother left me some rugby & soccer ones which worked, but they sucked, so I erased the floppies. There's also Larry, which I already stated works on this.

Abandonia (listed above) is probably the best site of the ones mentioned: it's not as big as HOTU, but it's MUCH faster and has nice detailed reviews and lots of nice extras too.

In terms of PC stuff, look for stuff by the various shareware houses like Apogee and Epic. They made, by far, the best games for the PC.
