I hate point-and-click adventure, but I think this can be a nice news for fans ^^

I wonder if the plan calls for using ScummVM as the engine core, or if they're planning on remaking the games entirely and not reusing any old code...

I'm hoping for the ScummVM option, but fearing that these will either be remakes OR that they won't happen at all...

I doubt that this is more than a rumor. LucasArts haven't released a adventure after Monkey Island 4 (which sucked badly) and I think the market for old school adventures on DS is very small.

Sierra released some classic collections from their "Quest" series in 2006/2007, with a little menu plus DOSBox. I assume Lucas would do it like this or ScummVM, if they decide to release adventure classics for the DS.

I wish these companies (especially Sierra) would release some ultimate collection for the PC with all their adventure games ever made, on DVD.

That would be SO cool. I already have all the games but I'd want to have them on DVD. Hate having the original copies on floppies.

What I find enough is that they do not bother making a fuss about distributing these games through abandonware websites, so you can download them and put them on a DVD yourself.

I already have all the games on CD & floppy.. and yeah, I should back them up some day. I'm just very lazy.

I'd like to have them all on an official DVD though, would make for a very awesome collection. Of course, it's totally unrealistic but still, would've been cool

ScummVM runs great on the DS already. Although of course Lucasarts gets no money for this!

LucasArts unsuccessfully tried to shut down ScummVM in the past. Lucasarts really sucks these days (and they have for several years).

Lucas Arts left the ESA a short while ago.
