How to close the shell in Workbench 3.1

Hello,

I want to transfer transdisk between an Amiga 600 with 6 GO HD and a Workbench 3.1, and a PC connected with a cable null modem

I follow this method in French :

http://insertdisk2.free.fr/index.php?page=11&id=12

At the beginning, I have AFD sender terminal installed on Windows XP, and a file called transdisklong on the PC

The goal is to transfer transdisk on the Amiga with ADF Sender Terminal, and write it on a disk

I start to put the same properties (port, baudrate, data bits, parity, stop bits, echo, flow control) in the Amiga and in ADF Sender Terminal

After that, I begin to open the shell of Amiga to write << Type ser:to ram:transdisk >>, and I open the file transdisklong in ADF Sender Terminal for sending it to the Amiga

The transfer works but after that, I must << break >> the shell with all the datas transfered to continue

The problem is I'm not able to close the shell : i have tried CTRL - C but nothing happens

My question is how to << break >> this shell ?

the command is 'endcli'.

In the shell and ,after transdisk was tranferred, it's impossible to write endcli or endshell

When i use CTRL and R, the Workbench screen has a flash : it's the good command to break the shell or not ?

maybe download scout and install it.

http://aminet.net/package/util/moni/Scout_os3

It is a superb system info utility with the ability to close non responsive windows.

Send a message via Skype™ to ppill
After you press CTRL+C you need to send another file until it fills the serial port's buffer. Then you should see a '***BREAK' message appear together with the prompt ready for new commands You can then cancel the second file transfer.

Still won't work since you're using 3.1 version of the OS. The method described on the page you linked only works with TYPE from 1.3 Workbench disk.

Go with CrossDOS.

You can't type anything into a shell window unless the window is active

Is the window active when you're trying to type into it?
