Is Flashback an original Amiga game?

I guess that the answer will be very short:no or it was created simultaneously in PC and Amiga but Flashback is one of those games that uses the color very well and if the graphics had been created first in PC then the Amiga graphics would not be so good IMO.What is clear is that the graphics had to be created in one of them first, the question is Amiga or PC...?

Cruise for a Corpse look very good in Amiga too, maybe it was created in Amiga first too...PC version has crap sound in this game, aren't Delphine games better developed relatively in Amiga than in PC?that gives a clue about which priority had Delphine.

Flight of the Amazon Queen is certainly original of Amiga and use the color great,it can serve like example to my reasoning.

it's not always like that, games for Lynx were created on Amiga, but they're still average or poor

Most Delphine games of that era were Amiga and Atari ST games first, and then ported to other formats.

flashback was first realesed for the amiga then ported to other platforms

however some new ports are better than the original because delphine added more colors and more anims

for example the mac 68k version which can be played at the perfection on the amiga using fusion or shapeshifter was enchanced and contains more colors, more anims and runs at 640x480 and was the best flashback version

I finished this game ......the mac version ...on my A1200/040

Here the wiki for Flashback : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashba...t_for_Identity

Quote:
Flashback was initially released for the Amiga in 1992, then ported to MS-DOS, Acorn Archimedes, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo in 1993. CD-ROM versions of Flashback for the 3DO, Apple Macintosh, Atari Jaguar, CD-i, FM Towns, MS-DOS and the Sega CD were released during 1994 and 1995.
I guess since Wiki is quite reliable, it is an Amiga original

Here the Amiga Joker with the review of the Amiga version : http://amr.abime.net/issue_1578_reviews
It's from january 1993, which mean it must be finished (even if not released ) in 1992. I'm pretty sure Flashback is genuine Amiga

Maybe i should edit your "quite reliable" source. It was i.e. released for the NEC PC-98 computer too.

Would be cool if you do. The one on the page doesn't look too impressive

Well, i can't do a better one. The PC-98 version looks exactly like this. It's a pretty cool japanese computer, but these port looks aweful.

Well then don't bother .
Just googled a little and found this : http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/screen/a.html
Some of the screens look really nice. Too bad Flashback is not one of them

laser thanx for the Mac version but my iBook does not want to run it. It does not understand the icon. Do I have to do anything special?

Yes I already have Classic support installed.

I downloaded my own file in the zone and decrunched the zip file and the game works perfect

Decrunch the zip file first on workbench then copy the flashback folder to the mac hardisk or hardfile...then run the game

please note that on the amiga to transfer files to the mac side you need crossMAC filesystem installed

please report if still doesn't work and I will try to crunch the game using stuffit expander...that's the best way
I can't do that at the moment because I have the shareware version of the program...I need a keyfile or a cracked version to crunch files

@laser many thanks for the game! will test it later...

edit:

okay I played MAC Flashback in Fusion.

It pains me to say it but it is BETTER looking, SMOOTHER and more RESPONSIVE than the native Amiga version...
