Can you beat my theoretical emu challenge?

Ok, a bit pointless but i was wondering today if its possible to have a pc emulating a dreamcast emulating a psx emulating the amiga emulating the spectrum?

Would a powerful pc be able to run the (final emu) zxam full speed?

Oh and thats 5 machines, can anyone do better?

Simple.
Just put Virtual PC or VMWare on top
But I think the Dreamcast Emu emulating the PSX would be a real hard challenge for the CPU. So I don't think it will run the Spectrum at full speed (but that's just theoretical ).

hmmm well i think on a half decent PC of today it would have no problem emulating even that depth of cores on top of cores, however where it would slow right down is emulating the display of each on its way back up...

still would be good for a laugh though...

There is no PSX emulator for the Dreamcast, only some Bleems original releases and some Bleem hacks.

I highly doubt that a PSX (emulator) can emulate an Amiga properly, so no chance for this ZX challenge.

The PS3 has in no way a better CPU for linux my Quad intel will beat it in every bench "also in single core operation" .. Dont know why you people think it is so good

There is very little homebrew on the PSX, certainly no Amiga emulators.

16? Yeah right... Which Blue Gene is that?

The older Blue Gene L is about the power of 10,000 PS3's

The 367 teraflops of the 15914 Sony PlayStation 3s beats IBM's BlueGene/L's 280.6
And the newer Blue Gene P is about the power of 30,000 PS3's.

sorry for bending this off topic people but the ps3 does not serve right in Linux as it was benched by several respected forums roughly under a 1.6Ghz G5 and if there were tasks that demanded more memory the PS3 would choke . I have my self tried PS3 linux and stuff like open office feels dead slow like a older Celeron . Not too say the cell could not have done better job "it could" the Linux distro is not fully optimized for PS3 as well as 512 more memory would serve it better as well . I am afraid PS3 is just a game\multimedia box. A full scaled cell workstation would be interesting though...

Has anyone tried this yet ? I cant as i dont have a DC emulator (never seen one ) As well as i am not home with my proper computer ,,,
I think the limitation may lay were the emulator does not give the dreamcast more cpu power than what the DC has ? for the rest so i gues it would be a great slowdown ...

As i said: There is no PSX emu for Dreamcast (but probably development) and no Amiga emu for PSX consoles.

nullDC is a decent Dreamcast emulator.

This works fine:

PC -> Dosbox -->Callus/Rage

Okay guys here's the story about the PS3 'supercomputer' :
http://blogs.zdnet.com/storage/?p=220
It's the GPU that makes it very interesting for certain applications.
But the CPU is not that powerful (yet not light years ahead of the PC).

@EmuChicken
I hope not

Does anyone know a guy working at NASA? Maybe his PC at office can do this ...
Anyway, I can say this combo works fine: PC -> WinUAE -> PC Task (Might & Magic I)
