X-Specs 3D software?

Hi,

Does anyone have an ADF or a copy of the files that cames with the Haitek X-Specs 3D glasses for the Amiga? I recently un-buried my X-specs and can't seem to find the original floppy disks that came with them. I have the D3D utility to view 3D images, but not the M3D utility to make them. If anyone has this, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

Scott

Hi,

I too have the hardware but after moving house many times have lost the disk - is it possible for the XSpecs software to be made available again?

Kind Regards,
Jim.

I am guessing you do a Search on the "Hall of Light", top right.

EDIT: Wrong wrong wrong. Probably reference to "warez". Or something. PM the poster, ask 'em.

The Zone is a neat little space on the FTP server, with a link located at the top of the forum (in between the "Donate" link and the "Log Out" link.

However, since this is a very old thread you'll probably have to use the more general EAB FTP server search engine to find it.

Good on you folks. Nice tight rules, abandonware only. I'm proud of you.

the zone holds data only for about 60 days, FIFO.
but since some moons, it gets backuped on the ftp. x-specs3d.dms you can find here.

Pat: its just about preserving the amiga heritage

Well, it saves me a headache - what happens if I DO come across some useful abandonware in my collection? It's unlikely but I just don't know what the heck I've got.

I wasn't even sure people even wanted the stuff anymore. Had I been hoarding it for no reason whatsoever? Are all Amigas now kept under glass with strict "Do not touch" warnings?

At least I've got a set of rules and guidelines now. I'm less in the dark, thankfully.

i'm sure there are still undiscovered apps or rare tools out there.
good start is using the search function on the ftp. since tosec files are also on the ftp,
it should find most things already found.
if you get no results on your search, create a copy and share, pls

Oh, will be long time before I can even access the disks (hard and floppy). I can't even plug a monitor in to the Amigas I have - but I WILL do this. In time. First an HDcaddy model, word has been given (I said I would, therefore, I must do it).

Then a careful check and release of my own Amiga contributions. They are beautiful to watch, if horrible code to study.

Finally, careful check for useful Amiga apps. You don't have to say please, it is what I always intended - wait for the big crash & burn, let the commercial people run away to chase dollars elsewhere. Support the people who just loved the machine and cherished it.

I cannot say exactly why I couldn't do this sooner. Just put it down to... I had very important commitments elsewhere. But I knew I would come back, so I kept my disks.

Even when I was homeless, I kept my software collection safe. That wasn't easy. But I did it.
