Got my Saturn today. What a nice machine. I've already tested some really good games like Iron Storm, Dragon Force, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Liquid Kids, Dark Savior....

Panzer Dragoon Saga, & Dragonforce are great games, but most of the others are just good games... be more picky.

NiGHTS into Dreams
Radiant Silvergun
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Guardian Heroes
Astal
Burning Rangers
Virtua Cop 2
Virtua Fighter 2
Bubble Symphonies

Countless RPG's like :

Magic Knight Rayearth
Albert Odyssey: Legend Of Eldean
Story of Thor 2

I've asked a guy in a German games forum. He bought a Saturn for me and made all the mods (modchip, 50/60Hz & Region switches). 90 in total, but it's worth the money. Iron Storm is pure genius. The only Advanced Millitary Commander series game with an US release.

Gaurdian heroes is a great game but the PAL version suffers from some annoying slowdown
Radiant Silvergun is good but not worth the price people are asking (100+).
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is great but there are also many other quality 2D fighters on the Saturn too...
Burning Rangers is also another great game at a more "sensible" price.
Use the Sega 3D pad for Nights... It's so much better!
Use a light gun for Virtua Cop for a better experience
Virtua Fighter 2 is an "ok" game.... Fighters Megamix, Last Bronx and the original Dead or Alive are better in my opinion

As for RPG games - make sure you don't get the Japenese versions unless you can read Japanese.... and all Saturn games are best played in 60hz.

EDIT: I will be selling a boxed and complete MK1 Japanese Saturn soon as i accidently ordered 2 from Japan .... if anyone's interested?

Educational purposes only of course...

Of course. I don't pay ridiculous overpriced games from money-grubbing reseller. I would buy Radiant Silvergun for 15-20, not more. But this will never happen, so i enjoy my modchip.

Tell me about it! I prefer to buy original games but some of the prices are getting ridiculous I hate greedy sellers who use the word "rare" to try and justify their stupid prices!..... That trick only works with people who have too much money and not enough knowledge

They never had the cool "chunky" pads! I guess they think everyone has big hands in the west I guess it's a MK1 pad to them as they never changed the design... only the colours.

The one in your pic is not even Japanese! I am guessing it's from China or Thailand as it says 200-240V in the top right corner of the box (below Sega logo)! Japanese consoles are 100V only.

Nice... i guess you have the Skeleton Saturn with "This Is Cool" printed on the lid? They are quite collectable but unfortunately they do have some minor compatibility issues

Nope, just got two 50Hz Eu Saturns, one Mk1, one Mk2. Got the pad from a friend as a birthday present.

Oops I misread and thought you had the Skeleton console It's a cool pad though I would highly recommend a region and 50/60hz mod for one of your Saturns - you will like the difference! I cannot go back to playing in 50hz unless the game is PAL optimised
