So, you liked the show, the organization?

Two situations from saturday bring a smile to my face each time I think about'em.

1. Everyone's accent was fun to hear, and I'm not talking about Germans only
One of the polish guys who run one of the compos on saturday, constantly said "DIMOUS" instead of DEMOS.

2. Voting graphic engine breakdown on saturday's compo start.
Firstly the guy who run the show has *guaranteed* everyone how deeply they've checked the system, how one guy tried to break it and another guy always put it back, and when the compo was about to start.... blank black page appeared.

Murphy's law for the win?

After a few minutes, someone from the croud yell: "Scheisse!!!" and the guy who runs the show replied: "Ja! Scheisse mit diese scheisse!!!!!"

A couple of minutes passed since they've finally got it running, and eveyrthing went well then.

Yeah, I just looked at it and it seems NVidia's scene/game party event. Will be held ending of august. NVidia wants to challenge Assembly ? Hmm I wonder what they are after ?

I liked the show, as for the organization, honestly, I don't have an idea cause I only looked at the compos, and nothing else so I can't have an opinion ... But as far as what I saw, everything seemed to be working ... The problem with the locals and breaking into cars worried me though (they had some problems in the first day - friday).

I've not heard about, only watched the show starting from saturday, but now that you've mentioned it, I remembered they've called some guy to the parking because he left all his windows open.
Or maybe there weren't any left so it looked like that?

I heard the demo Falling Down by Ukscene Allstars is kinda "based" on a recent (a few months back) suicidal attempt. A guy jumped off a building right on top a duble decker (or whatever it's called ) bus.
True?

Just some quick info about the outstanding demo Siloloquy by Elude: It seems that this demo is not working with WinUAE. Several people confirmed that. A video version is available at ftp.untergrund.net.

Respects to drifters for handing the price over to Elude. There's so much work, amazing graphics, 3d stuff and great music in this TBL-Killer.

Thanks, B.

I still can't locate the video version from that awesome PS3 demo, anyone found it?
Well, yeah, no wonder, I didn't even catch it's name, was too stunned with the quality of the cat's fur...

Personnaly i've been more amazed by Soliloquy than by Linger In Shadows by Plastic.

Opinions differ, it seems
I personaly heard on PPA, that it does have trouble on a real Amiga and works WinUAE, because it was developed on it.

Ditto, it's just the cat and his fur that made me go WOW!

Personally, I think it was much more enojoyable to watch Amy's demos, than PC's that almost made me fell asleep.
Nothing to compare with Crysis, the bestest&longest slide show demo in the pc world, currently!

Each and every one of Amy's productions had something interesting, and those 2 that won were THE BEST!

Cool, thanks!

Yup, march is one phackedup moth.
For the 3rd day today, we had a snow storm at night, hot & sunny morning, windy middle of the day and a bit of thunder and snow in the evening... :/

Got any more?

I'm still going through stuff, slowly but surely. (and this is all, of course, just my opinion..)

The photo compo was unimpressive. I'm not even sure why this is a competition to be honest. Freestyle graphics were interesting, but nothing really grabbed me at all. The winner did seem best, I guess. In the 4k graphics compo, the winner, ixaleno, is absolutely fantastic. Makes the other entries look sick (though, for 4k they don't seem bad..). Probably could have also won in freestyle.

Anyone have the C64 graphics entries? The dir on the web site is empty, though the results show they did have the compo..

As for music... In a sweeping generality, the newschool stuff sounded worse than oldschool (all IMO) and none really stood out. Same with streaming -- except the winner, If you really want to xxxx insert your xxxx, I thought was excellent.

As for demos, I've only gone through the C64 ones so far.. Favorites 3 is ok, but still a music disk. Iloliemi was funny and pretty good. I enjoyed that one, even better than the two that placed higher (the invite was mediocre at best, no idea why that rated and Natur Pur had a couple nice effects but super short). But Cauldron was a real demo. Very impressive, great music, effects, and held a theme. Put the rest to shame.
