This is taken from the Eye of the Beholder manual (page 26):

Constitution measures fitness, health, and physical toughness. High constitution increases the number of hit points a character gets. Hit points measure how difficult a character is to incapacitate or kill.

In any RPG, constitution affects the number of hit point (more con points, more hp), and generally the phisical resistance to shock, poisons, etc...

yes I noticed it while playing yesterday, a paladin with lower constitution died way faster than my warriors with const 20.

Now question #2: what exactly is the difference between intelligence and wisdom??? Intelligence would determine maximum spell points I could guess, but what does wisdom have to add? I think I noticed that chars with a high wisdom would learn more spells, or only a high wisdom gives you the ability to learn new spells, but I'm not sure.

Usually, Intelligence is used by Wizards and Wisdom by Clerics. A Wizard (Mage, Sorcerer, etc) with high Intelligence may have more spell points, more spells/day, ect depending the game, Wisdom is the same for Clerics (Priests).

An high Wisdom help the character even against mind-controll spells, usually.

In some games, Paladin with high Wisdom and Rangers with high Intelligence can cast spell when their level is high (9th, 10th or higher).

EDIT: awesome avatar!!!!!
