hello there amigans

i recently bought a blizzard 030 mk3 from ebay but has not fpu....

can i use the fpu 68881 from an old and broken memory expansion that i have ????

i ask because i know that blizzard says that handles 68882 ....
but says nothing about the (quite same) 68881

Yes, the 68881 & 68882 are pin-compatible so it should be fine. Really the only difference between them is that the 68882 is a little faster.

The only thing to check is the clockspeed as 68881 maybe won't like running at 50Mhz...

Hello there and welcome to the forums, in case nobody has welcomed you yet

I can't say for sure but I think that CPU requires the 882 math co-processor and will not work with the older model like the 020 cpu's can.

I'm sure somebody more knowledgable about this will be able to confirm if this is indeed the case.
