Ehi KG! Just a note to your new beautiful web site: Sincerly, I wouldn't have removed the page containing games with errors.

Hmmm, good point.

But I really like this sorting method, let's me choose'em by group name...

Damn, so, all I can do is dislike'em, delete'em and use those from your pack?

Don't remember. Old Decreator's pack maybe, with a few demos added by myself throughout the years...

Oh, and could we have the errors page back, please?

OK I am confused with the use of DATs.

I have latest ClrMAMEPro.

I load the dat, point it to the folder I already have WHDLoad zips in and scan...

Finds many uneeded and many missing sets (ok sets are normal probably as I haven't updated the set yet)... seems it is going IN the zips to look.

What am I doing wrong really?

Simpler questions: Demos and Magazines are totally new collections and nothing included in those sets is in any older WHDLoad set correct? So I am safe to download them from scratch right?

The demos and magazines are all new yes, so it's safe to grab them all.

As for the dats, just run the lot through the rebuilder in to a new directory. That'll sort them out for ya. I'd personally untick "compress" otherwise you'll end up with double zipped files.

Set each of your group name folders in the rom path of CLR. That should work.

I am not liking the new "working" dats mind you. Please have a proper "none working" dat file for those of us that rezip you lousy compressed zips with other formats

Or at the very least don't record the size when you create the dat.

Whoops, didn't see you had already covered this KG.

Well I pass the existing collection through the rebuilder, I unticked compress and recompress and now it creates FOLDERS that IN them have the zips! (one each!) Aaaaaargh! Is this normal behaviour?

Also during rebuilding, it shows that it skips thousands of files (the zip contents?)... Is THIS normal?

In the scanner, where I scanned the small magazine collection (that I know is complete), it shows that no set is missing, but MANY unneeded files and folders in each set. Is THIS normal?

Really confused...

I'm only supporting the zips on my site, that's how I created them, that's how I support them

I created the solid zip dats because I was more happy with them this way, you are more than welcome to create your own dats though.

Yeah it's normal behaviour. Just ignore all the info about unneeded files and folders, it shows them because it takes a look inside the zips, which is fine.

As for the individual folders, yep, that's how clr handles files. It either zips them up (the double zips I spoke of) or moves each file in to it's own folder.

You can use the results of the rebuilder to build a missing dat to show what you still need.

Once you have a complete set you can then move all of the files in to a single dir instead of individual dirs.

KG then I could just use scan not rebuild, and see what SETS I am missing (possible drawback of this, if you update an already existing set, I won't know).

Any quick way to move all files out of their folders? (IN WINDOWS OR DOS)

...erm... (about the drawback I mention above) but I suppose ClrMAMEPro would indeed catch an old version zip and correctly report it as missing right?

(else if it doesn't, there is no drawback to my method and no real way to verify if I have the latest version of your zip file)

Please clear those out, I am trying to save you bandwidth (because the simple answer to all the above is "heck, why don't I just download the whole thing again")...

(3rd post in a row - not including the edits to the above hehehe)

So now eLowar/Belgarath are updating GBAmiga to support all those too?

Think of the bandwidth that would be saved with "diff" update packs now every game is in the pack (just files that have changed and the odd complete pack that won't get through CLR).

Not possible with the current situation but workable with the old "none working" (for less than 1 % of the files) dats.

It's you project though so I don't mind if I have to ravage your sever unnecessarily for files I already have

If I remember correctly, Zetr0 doesn't have limit for bandwidth.

It's been a while since I use RomCenter.

The scanner only works with the files either double zipped or in individual folders so you'll need to rebuild to get them like that.

Easy way to move all files out of their folders...

Open the main dir in windows, press F3 to open the search box then search for all zip files (*.zip) it'll then show all the files. Then just select all and copy them anywhere you like.

I'm not changing my dats back to the old non-working way
