worthwhile to install FPU in Blizzard card?

just wondering if I should install an FPU in my Blizzard 030@50 card..i mainly use it for gaming and making music...

Not unless those games are Quake and Doom, and you make a lot of MP3s. Even then, the fixed-point versions are considerably faster than the floating-point even with floating-point hardware.

Yes, MP3 fixed-point versions are faster but less accurate than floating point versions. FPUs can speed up math operations up to 127 times but, obviously, programs have to be written to use them.
FPUs are often required for high level party demos or specific rendering/gfx tools.

Quake and Doom do not use FPU.

I thought Quake actually required an FPU... I'll have to check the game's box when I get home. Doom definitely doesn't though.

Yes, you can check on HOL that Quake game's box reports it requires at least 68020+FPU

Yes quake requires an fpu. But who the heck run ut on 030??
If one frame per every five minute is satisfying so yes
