You get bored of your 'commodity' if you must, but most of us will continue to enjoy using our computers.

Why should AmigaAnyOS need to compete with any other os... The Apps maketh the platform.

My 1.3 Proton cant compete with most other cars... Guess it's back to shanks pony....

But I'm a short arse and cant walk as fast as Lanky streaks of piss either...

Guess I'm fuXx0red.

I don't mind them calling it Classic, PPC cards feel pretty classic to me in 2007.

But Amigas are even classicerer!

Yeah, expanding an Amiga is different. If the hardware runs original software natively and the card allows you to run a newer Amiga OS, sure.

You could stick an IBM card in most of the machines around 1990; Mac, Amiga, bunch of Japanese systems, maybe even some Atari model, dunno. They'd run PC games, apps galore, still they'd be Macs, Amigas etc.

But if running its software is enough, then my Intel PC running an emulator is an Amiga.

If both hardware and software is replaced, what's left of the Amiga? The OS? Not the filing system - filing systems are "borrowed" or adapted left and right. "Look and feel" (c) Apple? That's it! The right click menu is what is Amiga! hehe

NOPE you are all wrong! The AMIGA is a box of wires and chips that, many years ago, our parents bought us. We spent many many (too many??!) hours playing tinkering trading and hacking....

Today, the AMIGA is all of those memories, it is a link to our past and the wonderful experiences there in...!

Hate to break the mood here that Amiga is just a silly "retro" computer.

You can actually use an Amiga for lots of stuff not just for playing transfered ADF-files and braging about your 250+ games WHD partition.

From a technical point of view improving the hardware for the Amiga is interesting. A PPC card wont improve Shadow of the beast but SOTB was a crap game anyways, its just that you guys where 10 years old when you saw that game and wasnt so used to paralax scrolling so you thought it was the best game ewar. There is this operating system for Amiga called Workbench, its kinda good, you can do all kind of cool stuff in it and just like SOTB was a major seller for the Aimga, WB was too (although not many bought an A500 for the OS back in the day).

Now imagine SOTB being WB. What if you could buy a PPC card and get a SOTB in full 3D made in Unreal 3 engine. That is what is happening with WB right now, its remade to run on a faster CPU. now the CPU is not a Pentium, sadly its a PPC and its going to cost u a lot of money if you want to fly with the stars and join in on "club OS4" but for some people thats worth it and its a kind of enhanced experience of WB you had back in 1993 so in a way OS4 is also a way for you to remember WB from back in the day.

Nice post cv643d, alas I fear you may as well be speaking to a brick wall.

For the tiny minority in here, OS4 CD has gone Gold and is about to go to press. (News available at an Amiga News web portal near you)

No it arrived 2 working day too late, but that is STILL damn quick!!!. Don't stress though, i used some joysticks that some other guys brought along, but as you know the Python has always been my choice stick . And that fact that it is now Microswitch makes it 50 times better!!.

It was also a strange feeling, seeing the old Quickshot Joystick box all over and again, and pulling out a BRAND NEW Python from the box!. It gave me a wave of nostalgia

Thanks again for your AMAZING service. If i EVER need anymore Amiga Gear in the future, you are definately the guy to see!. Please dont EVER shut down your online store !!!. PLEASE!!!.
