Thanks. One can change with revisions, but it's the same in the 1D1, the ones on the right.

Edit: In my case they aren't either. I've changed them now

Hi,

Just found this post whilst looking for the answer to another problem I have with my video output.

Anyway, I have an A1200, revision 1D.4, which has this exact same problem, the colours are all wrong on all outputs, RF, composite and RGB.

I have replaced the capacitors, resoldered all the pins and have measured all the voltages on the RGB port comparing them to my other A1200 and can see no problem .

The strange thing is, if I go into the early startup menu and change to NTSC the colours are perfect, but as far as I'm aware it's a PAL motherboard.

@Foul, have you tried switching to NTSC?

Jamie.

I see clearly the difference using the Comp. cable. Using Pal (it's a Pal miggy) I watch it blue, but changing to NTSC I see it blinking a lot and changing colors, but sometimes the right ones (it seems), or at least not all in blue. I can use NTSC using the rgb-scart cable.

What I see and I don't know if that's ok is that the chip beside Alice, XU9 gets very hot, more than Alice. What does it make, XU9, or is it normal so hot?

There are also small chips Q231, Q232, Q233 (A600 rev. 1.5) responsible for color representation. They are placed around Sony Video Chip. Replace them and see.

It's a GAL chip and they're known for running quite hot, should be OK.
