One thing about this game though - it has a TON of dead ends! I don't think I've played any other games with as many dead ends as this one. Most are easily avoidable but there are a few you might run into. Great game though, I like the Leisure Suit Larry series (as you might guess from my nick ).
And you didn't record them in the process .......

Kidding .... but please do if you're gonna play through another game ... so everyone can see these amiga games all the way through.

Oh.. well if it's any comfort, I played the PC version

I found this MT-32 emulator which improves the music greatly (the other alternative in the PC version is Adlib which is .. well, pretty bad!).

Hehe, I prefer to play adventure games on a PC.. the speed is better and generally less hassle.. and now that I'm using MT-32 sound, the sound isn't bad either.

Yeah, usually more colors, better speed, faster loading..... but if I'm gonna spend my time on completing a game that exist for both PC and Amiga, I prefere Amiga so I can record it for RAG to preserve this game for anyone to watch, and if someone get stuck; ultimate walkthrough.

Although I like both Sierra and Lucas adventure games, Lucas games seems more Amigaish for me. Sierras was pure converts in which the gfx was color reduced only (eg. no dithering or small enhancements to make it more attractive in less colours).

There's no doubt that Lucasarts ported their games FAR better than Sierra did to the Amiga. The 256 color Sierra games were absolutely horribly ported to the Amiga.

LucasArts games have to be the better of the two..

I got a whole lot more absorbed into LucasArts adventures... Monkey Island 1&2 (although 3 was a bit crap imo), Indy, maniac mansion, etc...

Sierra games never seemed to grab my attention as much. I dunno if it was the graphics, storylines, subject matter or the way they were played, but not many of them had anything to make me want to keep playing if I got stuck or re-play it if I completed it... There are 1 or 2 exceptions to that though... (Larry 3 (Just for pure humour), Gabriel Knight 1 and Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist) but that's all really...

So LucasArts wins my vote! (Go Monkey 1 and 2!)

One cool thing about Sierra is that they made awesome boxes and the games often came with cool extras such as fake magazines, newspapers, books, etc.

Lucas games weren't ported any better than the Sierra ones, they look the same, and sound worse than, the C64 versions. Whereas the Sierra games look the same, and sound better than, the IBM-PC versions.

Did you ever play any of the Amiga ports of the 256 color Sierra games? You'd take that back quickly if you had

I was thinking of the AGI games, not the SGI ones. Never did like any of their SGI games for some reason, they seemed to lack the "charm" of the AGI games. I still play AGI version of KQ4 in preference to SGI version, for example.
