ERROR: Eye Of The Beholder 2 (No music in character select screen)

When I was playing Eye of the Beholder 2, it did not play any music in the Character Creation Screen (which it always has in all versions of the game I have ever played).

I have the latest non-beta whdload, and the version of the slave was from KG Pack E.

My computer config is:
A1200D 030@50 / OS3.9BB2 / 192MB RAM

btw, is this thread supposed to be for any WHDLoad errors related to the games in the KGWHD Packs, even if the errors are only with the WHDLoad slaves themselves and not with the Packs?

I'll check out EOB2, does anyone know if the SPS image has the music playing?

As for posting errors...

I only really want problems that arise from people using the exact downloads from my packs.

It means I can keep track of which version they are using, and it means a decent level of consistency.

So in other words... if you are having a problem with a game, try the version from my pack... if it has the same error... post here

adfs and ipfs have the music, just tried your whd ver and the music is definitely missing.

edit: It's not missing from the German version.

Ah thanks for checking that out.

Sounds like it might not be implemented in the slave then, although I'll try installing it with different images.

Have you tried the german version?

Ok cool so the german version is fine...

I presume the character selection screen is quite easy to come across

After a bit of further testing I've discovered that it's the slave that is at fault.

If you revert back to slave 1.02a the music plays fine, but if you use slave 1.1 it doesn't play. Not sure why but it seems like the slave needs a little editing.

@Calgor: just for some shameless plug, do remember the 256 colors + automap AGA versions of EOB1 and 2 we did the last year, check in the Amiga game factory section of this site. those projects include a whdload version each, not available on whdload site

i don't think they will ever be: the hacked files don't fit in a disk, so they are not installable, they just get released within a lha or zip with the slave. at least so far...

@marco
Yeah, i downloaded them, but haven't yet tried them out! my computer is not fully setup yet, what with all the 160gb problems which might need an erase of entire hard disk.

Hmm...

There are plenty of whdload games which use lha instead of disks as an install method, it'd be nice to see this released on the WHDLoad site as I don't think it'd be any different really.

Just include a link in the readme as well saying "download lha here" or something.

No character selection screen music here too, on various WHDLoad preload options.

Yeah I think it's definitely a slave problem as the previous slave plays it fine.

Well if the whdload appears on the whdload site I'll include it in my packs, until then I won't include it.

Is it 100% finished yet?

Well, it says it's fully playable:

http://eob.wikispaces.com/EOB1+AGA+GAME
http://eob.wikispaces.com/EOB2+AGA+GAME

Maybe it's not on the official WHDLoad site, couse Wepl don't want doubled entries? Or couse it's not what was for the Amiga from "the beginning"? or he doesn't know about it?

my alphanumerical friend, it's not very much unknown, check the last pages of theese threads:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=24296&page=19
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=27267
the bugs are there, CFOU had not the time to work more on it and people lost interest. as i explained there, however, both games are stable enough to be played. ihmo, the original versions are so far the only ones that are safe to be played.

Don't know this for sure, but isn't it just a simple "copy the savegame" operation? Or even simpler, "write the converter" yerself...
