The game sets its stack to 50,000 not 5,000
but for some logically impossible, yet falsely true, reason... All UAE based Amiga Virtual Machines need the stack set to at least 100,000. Strangely weird..

I'll E-Mail the guy. If he needs to, he just needs to send me the specs on how to make spells and stuff like that, and I'll convert some nice D&D Spells for him if he wants too... or images... or mods...

If I don't, I'll just send the guy some credits and buy the game. And then figure out how to destroy the damn Dragon generator it keeps appearing on my games... Nice challenge that one.
Okay, I take what I said back. Sorry, it's just how it came across I guess

@Graham
You originally responded correctly. He really sounded like he was whining. And it was highly annoying. I was considering lobbing a couple of Hand Grenades at him myself. But he seems ok now. So I will write it off as a big misunderstanding.

But when we play a game together I still gunna whup the stuffin outta him.

WTF!? You can make new spells into the game!?
I love new spells! What new spells can you add?
It does not matter if they are "D&D" spells but just any interesting new spells are always fun to experiment with! I have been having a lot of fun with all these new powerpoint spells and the new monsters too!

It is great to fight Dragon Nests! They don't generate very often, but when they do.. oh boy! What fun seeing a Red Dragon mowing down rows of orcs & halflings while my wizard climbs into a tree and hides!

Oh and UAE users don't forget to up the stack size to 10000, I get gurus from time to time with it at 5000

Right! *Puts on newb hat* How do you that? I'm on WinUAe 1.4.1

Nah, just used to pay for more stable versions. I understand the complexity of coding it and a bow goes to those guys, I just like to have a less-than-moody application when I put my money on it. Sorry about the misinterpretation mates.

Wanna put a virtual guiness where your mouth is? I'll have to see how we can actually do that, because I'm at a loss as how we're going to manage a 101 on Total Chaos via net...

Yes, if:

1 - He tells me how / sends me a code template with the variables
2 - He agrees to it in the first place

Considering I've been Master and Player of Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire The Masquerade and Call of Ctulhu for 15 years, I'd say plenty. Have no lack of materials. Animations, Gfx and Sounds... well, different story. Can't code I'm afraid. I will do an effort for the AmigaHeads in here though, if you support me.

Well, I have some in mind, like gate spells, time stops, different types of undead, etc. I just need to know if he wants me to have a shot at it. I need to know the variables or what he wants from me in terms of data.

Where 1 is a red heart, 2 a silver heart, X arial servant, M Martyrs
, N dragon nest and d the dragons. poor lizards, they got no LOS and I was getting +15 life points / turn.

Hooooo

Good for you! Only keep in mind with ripped modules, we typically need permission from the original author to use them in the game.

I leave my Amiga on for weeks/months at a time with Total Chaos running. It is running right now. The game is rock solid on my Real Amiga Machine.

If you donate ca$h and beg for netplay I figure they will do it. They usually add anything that 3 or more people ask for. Oh the pleasures of being in the Amiga market.

I am very curious... if you have been a hardcore D&D type person for 15 years... why did you wait until 1 year after your Amiga died to start playing Total Chaos?

Why didn't you play Total Chaos for 15 years on your Amiga and then suddenly start playing Vampire: The Masquerade in 2007?

Right. I'll check

Precisely. I'm on WinUAE, which means it's not that stable

Yeah, well, I wouldn't expect them to take the trouble to do that in a virtual environment, they'd do it for a real Hard miggy (which makes perfect sense), and since I don't have one it's quite silly to ask

Quote:

Because I had never heard of it before? I had been playing 101s of the original Chaos against my mates using speccy version for many years. And playing role-plays And wondering why no-one made a remake of Phantasie III - Wrath of Nikademus

How would a Time Stop work
Simple. There is already a spell that allows an extra movement. As per D&D or MtG, I'd say a 10 or 5% chance spell that allows you extra free turns without your opponent playing on that turn. 2 turns would be enough to tip the balance scale I think. More would be a munchkin way of winning the game.

So it is like Move It x 2.

What happens if someone casts Double Time Stop?

Should it be Time Stop or Stop Time?

I'd say it adds turns, but at 5% chance, you would be very lucky to have it twice on the spellbook at any given time.

Remember, I was thrown off the game due to time limit. I didn't have the chance to print screen.

I think StrategyGamer was referring to the "double" spell. It lets most of your spells be cast twice in a turn. "Move it" already allows an extra turn for each time it is cast.

The game has plug and play technology.

You can plug in new graphics to the game.
You can plug in new sounds to the game.
You can plug in new musics to the game.
You can plug in new languages to the game.
You can plug in new speeches to the game.
You can plug in new texts to the game.

But I don't think you can just plug in a whole new spell.
Wouldn't that that require programming?

If you figure out how to do it, please make good graphics for your spells. No ugly spells please.

I have found it to be rock stable if you turn off JIT, although you would need a fastish CPU.

Not really. If there were any problems with appearing too much, just make a routine that disalows any copies of this spell to be repeated. Can be done. Not me of course, but can be done.

Total Chaos is being translated into Portuguese.

Know this won't affect many people here, but hey. Thought you might know.

The problem with the spell you're proposing is that if the "double" or "triple" spell has been cast, the wizard could potentially cast it twice or 3 times in one turn. Also, does your spell imply a second spell-selection phase in the same turn?

As with everything, coding routines are there to make sure things don't stack

Quote:

The spell was ripped out of D&D rules. It won't be inserted in the game, btw. What it would do, is basically make you cast 3 spells in a row. Non-stackable effects.
